I believe it's also because the fluid never comes into contact with moving parts that creates any kind of shearing motion which is _very, very_ important when you are pumping blood. You do not ever want blood cells being popped inside of someone. It can cause horrible clotting and a release of electrolytes like potassium, which, you know, when it leaks out of cells can _stop your fucking heart._ This is also why they use potassium _for lethal injections._ "Never ever ever ever ever ever push potassium" - Every teacher in nursing school. ("Push" means directly inject, as in pushing down on the plunger of a syringe while it's hooked up to an IV port.)

I’m wondering what the relationship between the number of bearings and flow rate is. It feels like adding more bearings pressing on the tubing would make it better, but using a flat circle would obviously do nothing.
@carlwheezerofsouls32733 жыл бұрын
i’m almost positive the flow rate is capped by the motors rotation speed and the size of the tube rather than how many bearings are making contact with the tube, the absolute most ive seen used in a practical design was three bearings in a triangle, id assume that many bearings provides a smoother flow output, and two bearings would be used for slightly intermittent machines like an IV dripper.
