पेरिटोनियल डायलिसिस (Peritoneal dialysis), डायलिसिस की वह प्रक्रिया है जिसमें प्रत्यक्ष रूप से पेट के निचले हिस्से में सर्जरी के माध्यम से एक नली डालकर बेकार पदार्थों को बाहर निकाला जाता है। इस प्रक्रिया के दौरान, एक तरह का खास तरल पदार्थ जिसे डायलीसेट कहते हैं वह उसे कैथेटर के माध्यम से पेट में डालकर कुछ घंटों तक पेट में ही रखा जाता है। इस समय में डायलेसेट बेकार पदार्थों को पेट से सोख लेता है और उसके बाद डायलिसेट को पेट से बाहर निकाल लिया जाता है। इस प्रक्रिया में प्रतिदिन तीन से चार बार दोहराया जाता है।
पेरिटोनियल डायलिसिस इन लोगों के लिए एक अच्छा विकल्प है-
ज्यादा छोटे बच्चों के लिए पेरिटोनियल डायलिसिस बेहतर विकल्प है क्योंकि, उनके लिए हीमोडायलिसिस तकनीकी रूप से ज्यादा कठिन होती है।
बच्चों के लिए पेरिटोनियल डायलिसिस की प्रक्रिया को स्कूल में भी संपन्न किया जा सकता है।
कामगार लोगों के लिए भी यह एक आरामदायी प्रक्रिया है क्योंकि यह दफ्तर में भी पूरी की जा सकती है।
ऐसे मरीज जो किसी कारण के चलते बिस्तर पर हों और जो हफ्ते में 3 दिन बाहर आने में असमर्थ हों, उनके लिए पेरिटोनियल डायलिसिस बेहतर विकल्प होता है।

Sir in HD we use to go to center for 4 to 5 hours in a day and then after we are free for next 2 days or 3 days for our work but in PD the fluid in take and out this process is three times in a a day ...my ques is PD is done twice a week or we have do it everyday ..?
