Sri Sankara TV along with Pravritti Foundation launches a new TV serial - 'Periyavaa' based on the teachings of Kanchi Mahaperiyavaa i.e. His Holiness Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswathi, 68th Sankaracharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.
The story of 'Periyavaa' revolves around a family, whose members are ardent followers of the Kanchi Paramacharya. The challenges the family faces in today's times while following the teachings of the great saint make up the story.

About Mahaperiyavaa, the sage of Kanchi: Kanchi Sankaracharya Jagadguru Shri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Mahaswamigal is considered next only to Adi Sankara in propagating Sanathana Dharma. His tireless efforts in ‘Veda Samrakshanam’ and his endeavors to re-develop temples that were in ruins across the country, particularly in Tamil Nadu reckons merit. He was called and considered as a ”walking god” by his devotees as he helped and performed plenty of miracles to provide relief from their problem to his followers who came to see him.
