Thanks for explaining how to set the timing mark. It was a mystery till you explained it.

Great job thank you so much. I wish I would have had that information 10 years ago I put it together wrong and it tried to run away on me luckily I had my hose clamps handy. I finally got a hold of a guy named Leon that worked at a port in Alabama and he explained the same way you did. It was very helpful thank you! The reason I'm here is it's time to replace the seals again and I forgot what I did 10 years ago.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I just finished reassembly of my pump and everything is working properly. Now I’ll install it to see if I have injector issues.

@@randallhorner5970 i didn’t buy anything but parts cleaner. Mine was stuck from sitting, so I disassembled, cleaned and reassembled. It worked great. Yours might have bad or torn o rings.

@@randallhorner5970 my recommendation is to disassemble it and measure or bring in your o rings and get replacements. Mine were fine or I would give you the size.

Good Afternoon Brother I have a compact tractor with the same motor.. my diesel pump is leaking diesel from the top of pump .. how many O rings / seals go in before you hand tighten. Local guy gave me some O rings but still weeping diesel. Any advice on seals would be very helpful. I’m I’m Portugal but have access to parts from other countries . From the diogram on the link I found your video from it was part 050

My perkins 300d has a pump like this and one of the o rings had that rod in a bind that caused my engine to over rev and run away, my dad had to shut the fuel off at the water separator bowl...

Does every plunger face the same way? i followed this video but it seems I'm getting way too much fuel.

I have a Perkins 3 cylinder with similar pump, was running fine, then I let it sit a while and got a no start. Bled the fuel at the injectors and got it going. At again for a couple months and now I can’t get any fuel to bleed from injectors. I am getting fuel to the pump via lift pump. All 3 cylinders dead at same time. What would cause this issue? And I checked the fuel shut off solenoid, it is working.

Hi, is it possible a leak from the plate hold from the pentagonal screws? Is it difficult to take it out with the right tools? Is it similar to a kubota pump or very different?

Great video. Getting diesel in my engine sump so going try the rebuild. Does the cam running the pump run in diesel or should it be the engine oil. Sounds stupid but Someine mentioned something pumps run in the diesel....can’t imagine this.

Did you repair the pump cause you had fuel in the oil or? Cause I have the N844 and trying to figure out if I can do the rebuild my self cause some people told me that I had to retime that pump with some special tools?
@grangersgarage56063 жыл бұрын
I had to rebuild due to the motor sitting for a couple years and it seized the pump and I wasn't getting fuel. No special tools, but the bolts holding it on are a little different on mine but I managed to get them off without any Special tools .

How could the injection pump be out of time since it runs off the camshaft?
@Xceller8r2 жыл бұрын
His talkin about being in time with the metering/shut off rack (the part that he was sliding left to right) and the pinion gear (he also took that out). The pinion gear twists the plunger/pistons helical cut - the cuts at the tip of The plunger towards or away from the fuel inlet orifice inside the pumps cylinder. When the slot is turned and opens towards the fuel inlet orific then the fuel will bypass and won’t be pressurized by the plunger thus cutting fuel and cutting ur engines.. the less opening is allowed over the orifice the more fuel is is pressurized by plunger and the higher the engine will rev. Very important to have the rack and the pinion gear timed otherwise the slot on the plunger won’t close/open in the correct position over the orifice based on where the rack position is.
@Xceller8r2 жыл бұрын
Also another thing, your plunger can be installed 180 degrees out too in which case the helical cut on the plunger is nowhere near the oriface - which will mean ur pump will be putting out full maximum fuel regardless of where the throttle is set - I did this when I first reassembled my pump and I had a run away - lucky I was able to kill the engine by choking it with a rag over the air inlet
@James-qc9gh2 жыл бұрын
@@Xceller8r thanks for explaining. The one who make the video did an amazing job of explaining the alignment of the gear and the plunger therefore I was able to avoid those issues without understanding exactly how the system works.
