Trying to retrieve from another file words that have the same root and their different suffixes. For example the root is belie and I want to find the words believe belief believing believed believes etc. Any idea?

I tried this, but nothing happens: #!/usr/bin/perl system ("unzip -p harman_hisbo_15.odt meta.xml > meta.txt"); system ("touch result.txt"); open(INPUT, '', 'result.txt'); print RESULT "It matches " if ( =~ /date/); system ("less result.txt"); system ("touch -d 20080824 harman_hisbo_15.odt"); My aim is to pick the digits following the word "date" and use them to change the creation date of the file. Could you help me?
