To me with all due respect there are three categories of subs; good, great and ELITE aka ( NEXT LEVEL). This is with all due respect and price point. GOOD - Polk, Bic America, some cheaper Klipsch, ETC… and other subs in the $200-$400 price range. Great - Starke, RSL, SVS, REL, some Klipsch, Martin Logan, Rythmic, PSA, ETC… but most within the $500 - $3,000.00 range. ELITE ( Next Level ) $3000+ = - Perlisten, PSA, JL Audio Gotham, JTR, Funk Audio, Paradigm Persona, ETC… Honestly in my opinion it depends on what you’re looking for and what price point. To answer your question 🤔… in my room; YES!

At around $6000 each, it would have been better to purchase just one of these subs and upgrade your LCRs. Even one of these subs seems to be more than you need for your room.

I respect your opinion but this is my secondary theater system in my basement; my primary movie Theater consists of center channel Martin Logan ESL C18 cost $4600.00 and my L + R channel cost $750.00 each Martin Logan SLM XL. I have over $20,000.00 in speakers and you’re telling me to upgrade 🤔😂⁉️ The A80 J, KEF T301 and T101 is my secondary system in my basement for watching tv, please watch my other videos before posting a comment. I have a 122” screen with a Sony 4K projector and Perlisten subs as my movie theater 9.2.6 setup. So I respectfully agree to disagree🙏🏾.

These Perlisten subs are 6k a piece. For $6999 you could've had a TV42 from Power Sound Audio. It's (2) 21inch IPAL drivers. 8000W RMS (10000W PEAK). Power Sound Audio is amazing. It's owned by Tom Vodhanel, who is the V in SVS speakers. He was one of the founding members but went solo to open PSA.

to some of the other posters saying single sub would cut it: everyone now days knows you want multi sub to present more even bass in the room. Perlisten from what i understand has one of the industry’s best speaker design engineers and the company is fairly new. the products they are putting out are 2nd to none. @Michael O i have sort of similar set up to yours w weaker subs. I have Martin Logan Purity speakers acting as my mains. 4 Martin Logan 40i speakers acting in surround duty, and another 4 Martin logan 15i speakers for atmos. Recently my girlfriend re arranged and wanted me to put 2 of the 40i speakers in storage, so I picked up 2 of the Martin logan SLM speakers to wall mount and fill in as my rear surrounds. i have 2 10 inch martin logan subs, but they are a weak link in my system. interesting thing is, i don’t have a center channel, the imaging from the purity’s is fantastic. that said, adding the C18 is the speaker to add if I finally pony up for a center. My question for you is: would you add killer subs first or the C18 in center duty? My comment for you is: I have had an interesting experience running all full size towers as a base layer and crossing over my subs at 40. There are scenes with horses galloping from the rear where the bass content in the surrounds moving thru the room is impressive. other content with prop planes flying in from the rear is also impressive with full size surrounds. surround content does include low bass. anyway, for a theater at your level, it might be an interesting experiment for u to slam some full size base layer surrounds in at some point just to play w it.

@@thomsshea That’s a great question🤔…. Your 40i should carry a lot of the missing bass from your system. Being that you have the dual ML 10” subs I would lean towards the ML c18, I have one and love it‼️that way you don’t have to use your ML Purity as a phantom sound stage and have them work as your LC and RC as it was meant to be for separation while watching movies. Now this is my blind guessing of your room from your description of what I would do….. I would get the ML C18 and wait for Starke subs BOGO sale. If not move or sell your 2 ML 10” subs like I did with my 10” RSL Speedwoofer 10s ( I moved them upstairs ) and concentrate on getting 4 15” Starke subs and stacking them together 2 in one corner in front of the room and 2 in the opposite corner in the back of your room. Or get 2 more 10” ML subs for your room and if you can stack them or put them close together you’ll get more output from them. I really think you’ll notice the difference if you do that. If you do give Starke subs a try please wait till they have their BOGO sale it’s a heck of a great deal. But if you can’t wait as of today they have the 15” sub on sale for $499.00 each you can get 4 great subs for $2,000.00. You will definitely notice a difference with that setup.💪🏾‼️ I would love to put full size speakers in my room and know it will sound much better than my ML C18 center, 8 ML SLM XL bed layer and 6 ML SLM as my atmos but I really do love the minimalist slim line look of the ML SLM XL. They just don’t stick out 12” to 18” into the room making my room seem smaller. That’s just my preference. I have a video of my HT room on my YT channel. Let me know what you think. I’m going to post more videos soon: I’ve just been crazy busy with work and life. I would love to see your system!!! If you do post it please tag me.

i haven’t heard of that sub, but i see spare change reviewed it so I will check that out. i live in a condo in seattle so space is at a premium. i must say your ML SLM / SLM XL strategy would be significantly easier to implement than what I have. If I had not been so obsessed w exploring full towers for my base layer surrounds and if i would have thought of it i would have been likely to grab 8 ML SLM speakers and use those as my base layer surround and atmos. as it is now I have the four 40i and four 15i atmos speakers and my strategy for selecting the 15i as atmos was to match the 40i tweeters mids, so all the surrounds and atmos have the same tweets and same mids. after watching techno dad with his speaker on a stick strategy - he is big on all the speakers matching for total continuity. i picked the two ML SLM to stand in for my rear 40i speakers because they have the same tweet as the 40i. if I were starting from a clean slate i might do eight ML SLM for base layer surround and atmos. I will have to post some pics in a folder and get u a link. my bedroom system would be where i would re home my ML 10 subs. That system now just has 3 MK Sound thx 750 speakers from the last 90s, but they are very good. If I add surround in my bedroom I might try to get the old MK sound surrounds that match my LCR i already have in there. at some point i want my main system to support front wide and 6 atmos.

The measurements speak volumes more than any reviewer. Surely a good write up or video explaining them can only help guide us, but we have the measuring performance of them. Comparing them to the measurements I have seen from the "best audiophile sub" company Rel, these seem many times more capable. Rel refuses to release measurements. Rhythmic also tests very well, and they make sure every sub they make hits 20hz. Arendal also tests very well. These are the 3 sub makers that I am most interested in, but honestly, the dual subs by Perlisten seem to be some of the best measured subs ever made when it comes to distortion levels. Unfortunately they are also the most expensive sub I have ever considered. Since i can see the data.. it makes for quite a consideration. That super clean distortion free and highly accurate and contoured bass is calling my name out. One day.

Perlisten is an elite subwoofer but the prices on them are ridiculous‼️ the Dual Perlisten D15s cost me $12,000.00 please trust me Im not bragging just stating.

@@michaelo3498 Last Thing what do you think Mk X15+ subwoofer?

@@leatijoseph828 I’ve never heard them but from what I’ve seen, and read about them they are fantastic! They use the same push pull configuration as Perlisten in their D212 and D215 as well as their other subs. My only concern about M&K are the small amp the use in their products, but they can still produce sub 20 hertz with the small amp. M&K subs are also pricey; but then again it depends on how deep ones pockets are. Like I said I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews about M&K.

Are they better then SVS subwoofers?

These Perlisten are much better than the SVS actual range. Howether, don't think Perlisten are ultimate subs. Take a look on JTR subwoofers, you'll discover who is able to do powerfull end game subwoofers :D
