The first Missionaries to set foot on Rearea soil was Isako and Vailimo of Niue. Whilst others feared it due to the history of Caution Bay, these two men of God from Niue faced the odds.

You're absolutely correct. Lealea is the best in peroveta among the Hiri West villages. In addition, my sister Idau Ada is simply the best in peroveta.

Thank you. This are the people of Lealea in Central part of Port moresby, png. They sing peroveta (prophet songs) in the motu language as way of thanks giving to God, worship, fellowship etc. This style was introduced during LMS in 1875 where missionaries from South sea exchange or brought GOSPEL light and story goes on.

@@tessietai8031 ahhh thank you I heard the Imene Tuki was brought there by a Cook Island Minister. I was listening like this is a Imene Tuki but this is not the Cook Islands. Thats awesome seeing this singing style in another Island nation.😊😊 The style sounds like its from Manihiki in the Northern Cooks.

Sheng these are Church members or ekalesia from the Lealea United Church in the outskirts of Port Moresby, Papua New Guiena. Lealea is a motu village as well. They are singing a peroveta (prophet) song in motu language, similar to imene tuki sung by the Cook Islanders. Most of the original imene tukis are still sung by the motu people, however they have also composed their own songs in the motu language, like these two. Imene tuki was brought to our shores by a Mangaian missionary called Rutoka from Takamoa College in 1872. We still maintain our relationship with Kukis...God bless souls of Ruatoka, Rau, Piri, Materua and Aniderea from Takamoa Theological College.
