I see you're using Chat GPT 4, so how does Perplexity Pro compare to it as it also has access to GPT4? Is the output the same or different when using the same prompt?

I find ChatGPT will follow instructions for generating references in a specific format, i.e. Harvard. Whilst Perplexity has a standard output and doesn't always reference citations in a specific format. If that makes sense?

you can tell it to use some specific format. also you can use collections to format using the ai prompt. it's all possible.

I would like to point that, This is a biased comparision as you dont have a pro version perplexity to compare with a GPT plus user! Testing on base models or premium models would be more biased! What are your comments?

Hmm, maybe. Perplexity doesn't have its own LLM. It's basically a interface that uses GPT, Gemini, Claude etc... Whilst it was gpt3 Vs gpt4 it's basically using openAI so in the grand scheme of things I'm not sure it would have made a difference if I upgraded to pro or not.

I've used both Perplexity AI and ChatGPT. I find ChatGPT has a yes-man 5-year old type of "personality" (if I can use the word personality for an AI). Perplexity has a feel of an Administrative Assistant wanting to work for a boss.

Wrong. ChatGPT can easily be customized to produce similar results and perplexity even uses ChatGPT

ChatGPT and Perplexity are both great, but Perplexity writes better stories and dialogues. It's not run-off-the-mill at all. However, the AI Pi is not so good and often gives shitty answers, only the voices are really nice.

In a word, SHIT. But so is ChatGPT. The amount of time you need to "educate" the Ai, you're better off doing the research yourself.
