I recommend running triple option with conservative tempo. Don't let the other team get the ball as much and be happy with 3 or 4 yard runs. It's not as exciting play-to-play but it'll keep games close. Also, you should be able to recruit 2 star recruits at least. The rule could be to recruit one star above your current ranking.

Still loving this concept, think I will do one myself next time I play NCAA 14. Reminds me of my old Madden 17 Franchise setup I had. You should give it a go, rules to follow. I call it the 'Clean Slate Initiative'. You take your favorite team, for you obviously rocking out with the Cards. Now you must trade away every single player on the team 76 and above(thus includes P and K). You get to keep three players above 75. Your first player can be any OVR but has to be 33+. The other two players have to be below 90 but any age. Additional stipulation, these players can not be a QB, HB, or LB. Any player you can not trade away you must cut from the team. At no time are you allowed to have more than 3 picks in a round of a draft each year. This includes picks you plan on trading away so you can't trade up to 4 1st round picks then trade away one of the 1sts. Should you have less than min players for a position you sign the lowest ovr player in FA. No trading for players, no signing FAs, only through the draft and 1 player in the offseason you can pick up via FA but he can't be above 75 ovr. You may not scout any traits at first. New scouting department who haven't proved themselves. You 'unlock' scouting three ways. When you draft your 1st 80+ player, when you have drafted 3 80+ players in one draft, and when you draft a sleeper in the 6th/7th round. Once one is completed you get to look at a trait, two done two, etc. Lastly, if you play the games instead of simulate then obviously all-madden, difficult sliders, and on top of that your choices are limited the first year or so(i usually do it for entire career) as you can only choose the middle play both on offense and defense, no hot routes, no audibles, no calling pass/run. Took me something like 12 years just get into the playoffs via simulating. First year we went 2-11-3.

Guys don't slide along the ground with someone on their back because 500 pounds of weight creates too much friction for it to happen. It is perfectly legal to roll over fallen players (teammates or opponents) and then get back up and keep running. It happens a few times every year.
