This was the most active set of Perseids I have personally seen, but to see my first aurora at the same time.... unbelievable. Ethereal.

Likewise! I've been out capturing this shower for several years in a row now and this was easily the best display I've seen. So many more meteors than previous years

i was able to see the first highlight in person. the longest i’ve ever seen a meteor stay visible in atmosphere. never seen one where i have to turn my head across the horizon slowly

Best one I saw was having a fag on my doorstep and saw a green glow behind the clouds which I followed for a good few seconds for it to come through the clouds and burn up . Honestly I don’t think il ever see a better one

Not sure if it is bad luck, but I've tried for years to have a good evening of meteor viewing during the Perseids, and have never seen anything to make it seem like more than an ordinary night x2. Probably done at this point.

The meteor I saw a few weeks was amazing. I noticed orangish glow just going in a straight line for about 5 seconds. Moving very fast but majestic. And literally did one those twinkles you see when team rocket get thrown out of the atmosphere 😂 it’s time to get a telescope for sure

Best video of shooting stars I saw, color, noise, definition everything is so good. I got the same lens but I have an A7s Mk1, I would like to know your settings on the camera and what process did you do for the video editing please. (denoise ? Color correction ?) Thanks. I did some perseids videos too.
@MagicCarpetMedia
@MagicCarpetMedia 3 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for the kind words about the video, I'm glad you enjoyed it. My settings are as follows: Put camera into video mode and Set exposure to manual Shutter speed 1/25 Aperture F1.4 ISO 64,000 - 80,000 but no more than this or it will be very noisy and hard to fix. Picture Profile: PP7. This is important. Once you have shot the footage it will need to be edited as PP7 is a very flat picture profile so you would need to edit the footage in premiere pro or final cut and bring the highlights up and the shadows down. Bringing the shadows down is what keeps the noise low. I don't use any desnoise software. I edit in premiere pro and edit the clips using two adjustment layers on top of each other. All I really do is bring up the highlights and bring shadows down in luminetri colours tab on both adjustment layers. I sometimes increase the saturation of the green to bring out the colour of the tails. Hope this helps 😊
@Grabakr
@Grabakr 3 ай бұрын
@@MagicCarpetMedia aaaaaah got it thx, i was using standard PP i will do some test with PP7. Do you use Pal or Ntsc mode ? I saw in the A7s Mk1 the ntsc mode brings better quality in extreme low light videos.
