Best part: wide range of pleasurable activities. I'm 51 with severe perseverating and think it has a lot to do with being bored.

Thanks for sharing this video. You did a great job of explaining perseveration and I could hear more of it. It looks differently in an adult than a child, but strategies for understanding it and re-directing it are always helpful.

I have HFA and the worst part of my childhood was when I was told I needed to take breaks from my obsessions/special intrests.

perseveration is a persistent repetition of words beyond their relevance ..occurs in dementia and schizophrenia

Yeah and if that's not working? I mean, i have my characters and shift ragularly to them.. but as soon as i also forget my own intentions.. it's minimum a 3-6h fight regardless or hunger or other urges.

I'm a recently assessed PDD-NOS, Atypical Asperger; 1] I have expressive face, 2] I can look people in the eye & 3] I do STOP talking.
