Brilliant video, thank you very much! Can you tell me what type of lid I need to put on, please? Does it need to be a plastic one due to the vinegar possibly corroding the metal ones? Thanks

Hi, I just came across this video and I'm quite intrigued! May I ask what is black seeds? To me it looks like black sesame seeds? Also once its pickled, does the garlic still have that bite to it or does it go soft?

Thank you! The black is nigella seeds. The more it pickles the softer it will get. If you only pick it for a few months then the crunch will remain, but if you pickle for a year it will be much softer.

how about sugar? can we add sugar? and is there any minimum time, like 2 or 3 weeks, that we have to wait before consuming it?

You can definitely add sugar if you’d like. And it’s best to eat it 4-7 weeks after you’ve pickled. But make an extra jar to keep for years, because then it will be like aged wine, it’ll just keep getting better

My aunt recommends waiting a minimum of 3 months. We were having dinner with her recently, she pulled out a 10 old jar, it melted in my mouth. it was like paradise

Do you pour the vinegar into the jar of garlic whilst it’s still hot? Or do you need to wait until it’s cooled down?

question: you just use vinegar and you never mix it with water? only vinegar? 2) do you pour HOT vinegar or you wait first so that it cools down? thanks
@goldentahdig8900
@goldentahdig8900 4 жыл бұрын
For this recipe I only used vinegar, because that way you can leave it out for years in a dark dry place. But if you add water you will have to keep it in the fridge, and it might not stay that long

If you type "seer torshi" in google you will find lots of different versions, rare ingredients are not absolutely necessary. The base is garlic, vinegar, salt and a small source of sweetness. Here the balsamic vinegar and molasses add sweetness and flavor, but instead you can use a spoonful of sugar or honey, or a few dates for example
