I just found our i failed step 1. And I'm feeling really lost and hopeless. I'm an IMG and work full time. I was waking up to study at 2 am every day before job and i was feeling so so confident after taking the exam and i really thought i performed good and found out i missed 1 or 2 points to pass. I'm trying to find the strength to start again! I tried this morning but every time I'm trying to sit down and start again i just can't 😓 your words give me a lot of strength and hope. I maybe should take a few days to breathe and start again❤️

This is such an inspiring video!! Medical students are made to feel like their whole future rides on these exams. It leads to discouragement which can set them up for failure. It also sucks out the joy of becoming a physician. I always try to present a low stress environment for students that rotate with me. I want them to learn in an environment that is conducive to learning. I want them to enjoy medical school! Thank you so much for everything you do to help our community!

Dani Alt I also failed. I failed in 2018, I don’t know what to do now. I feel lost and confused sometimes about my degree. What made you start studying again?

Thanks for that!! I have a low STEP1 score; wanted to be a surgeon since before I started this journey, I kind of settled for my "parallel" program. I think I'll do what you did and apply to what I really want. Thank you

Thank you Dr. Griffin. Your story is really inspiring and truly wholesome :) I couldn't have found the video at a better time- it's been pretty rough in med school and it's so true that medicine doesn't stop for life, and we are expected to keep moving with it :) It's great to see success stories like yours! Thank you for posting :)

Hello there , I just failed step, after that ecfmg they send me this email, they suspend my application to any step exam for a year do to anomalous performance, readiness to test and motivation to pass, I don't know what's wroung, I fail my test due to anxiety, I prepared well but I got so anxious tired during the exams and I run of time and leaving some questions without answering and some of multiple flags,,, so what should I do, I already start to study again, should I wait or this will be more reg flags to get match next year, or changing the whole pass to UK? Did some face same problem here?
