Harold Finch was always the most dangerous and cunning man. He knew this which is why he went to such great lengths in order to limit himself. Elias said as much. Root always complained about Finch limiting the machine, and eventually respected his decision, however she never really understood that it wasn’t because he was scared of the machine itself, but because he was terrified of himself, and people like him. His character throughout the show (especially the last two seasons) was him fighting against himself just as much as he was Samaritan. Fighting to prevent himself from boiling over.

Even of the loss of Nathan. He still "constrained" himself. It is only when he was "close" to his team that began to unravel of "never again" to loose someone. Until it happened again. Then… "all rules out of the windows :-)

Excuse me. I'm not using click bait. In the first place there would be no need for me to try and gather views. First I'm doing this for myself and for my passion towards this series, and I'm releasing it on the way so that other people can enjoy it. Second I get no money from these videos so really I would have no interest in trying to bolster the view count. Second, Ramin Djawadi used leitmotivs in Person Of Interest (among others), which are themes linked to specific characters, plotpoints, or actions. These themes that I have gathered and put together in this compilation are all variations of Finch's theme after Root's death. Basically when he decided to kill Samaritan notwithstanding the collateral damage, his musical theme became 'darker' and since no official soundtrack has been released for season 5 I figured I could try to arrange these really cool themes in a way that's practical and enjoyable to listen to. You can find all these tracks in the episodes thanks to the description and the chapters of this video, thus seeing that they all match Harold's more questionnable and morally debatable actions. I did allow myself to use some short extracts of other characters' themes (mostly Samaritan, the Machine, and Harold's normal theme) because it helped for the transitions, and allowed the video to be less repetitive. I'm sorry if that made you feel wronged by the title. If you can't hear that the same motif is repeated throughout all of the variations (actually there are two main motives in 'Dark Finch' theme which you can hear respectively at 5:26 and at 5:58 for example), then I'm truely sorry, and if you can't see with the length of the video, the audio quality, the transitions and the detailed chapters that I put a lot of effort in this video then I'm again truely sorry. But not in any case would I have lied or cheated about a series I love and admire this much.
