Well, it really seems more coherent to me that they do not mention anything between them about dating Yu, because surely when talking behind the scenes taking into account the sentimental development of both by the SL with the MC, they perhaps realized that both at some point liked the Same boy, that is, Yu (obviously they never told him to his face, but he was sorry and so as not to bother their relationship because they preferred to omit that) and well, when they got to the point of confession and relationship with Yu, it is almost certain that so as not to harm the other , they just kept quiet, because in their minds they didn't want to give that feeling of "betrayal" to their best friend, since they felt that they had taken away the boy with whom they were in love.

Only ones who don't see totally forgive you is Futaba and Kawakami, with the fortune teller at least recognizing it is just a start. The rest forgive you way too easily. IE: they saw Ryuji with him through a window, mistook him for a girl (don't remember how), and on a day they had to go together on a date. So they confronted him together, and left when they heard THEY were the one being prioritised.

I mean, usually, when it comes to romance in fiction, I like to go with the "Everyone is bi until proven otherwise" route, and from a Doylist standpoint, I can't really see a good reason _not_ to have the protags be bi. Even if they are their own characters rather than just blank slates, the player is inevitably gonna project a bit onto them, so why not give them more options? Don't get me wrong, it's not a deal-breaker for me, it's just kind of annoying that they won't do it. I mean, they had a romance route prepared for Yosuke in P4 and everything, but then they just cut it for no good reason.

One thing I gotta say about the only piece of consequence you showed us in the female route in Persona 3 Portable, that isn't really a consequence, that's only there for comedy purposes, and even if it is, you only get this if you have a specific party set-up and talk to them. That basically means that there's no way in hell that first time players are going to discover that in the game for themselves and the only way they'll actually find out about it is if they stumble upon a KZbin video of it. They most likely wouldn't have that specific party set-up and they wouldn't know that they can talk to their party members while exploring Tartarus or wouldn't bother talking to them anyways, which is why there's no way they'll discover that harem scene for themselves. I'm hoping that if they were to remake Persona 3 and bring back the female protagonist, there should be an actual consequence that the player can't escape from. I can think of one way to do this both in the male and female route, and that's connected to one new event I would like to see, but that's a different story.

I doubt you could form a relationship with Akechi, since he's kinda "MIA", he can't get any valentine's scenes, but then again, it never stopped Atlus from straight up ressurecting Shinjiro, just so he could be featured in one final scene on roof. Still, it's very different, since scene with Shinji literally doesn't affect story at all, 'cause it's last thing you see before credits roll, while in possible P5 fem route you still would have to deal with departure day, which could't feature Akechi since if he's actually alive and showed on valentine's, then he shouldn't be free (Unless the whole thing takes place in Maruki's reality, if female route features this arc).
