When I played The Answer, I didn't really get it, but after watching the videos the story makes sense. Nyx herself said that The Fall could have been prevented if more human were like SEES, meaning she will only do what humans want. It is clear that she herself is not bad or good. Minato was tring to stop human wishes for death so Nyx would be at her neutral position again.

If I understand this right, Nyx and Erebos are not evil creatures. Nyx has the power to bring death but has no purpose or meaning to do that. Erebos on the other hand was formed from human desire to bring death and that may have given it purpose to fulfil those desires. It can't do it on it's own though so it needs to have Nyx in order to unleash death. Minato used the Universe Arcana (the power of so many if not al people) to block Erebos. Perhaps the universe arcana can destroy Erebos then...

They're both concepts that don't take a physical form. Nyx is death while erebus is the desire for death, during the battle of nyx and minato you could see that even when he obtained the universe arcana he was still no match for nyx it's the bonds that strengthened the power of the universe the desire of the people to live that helped sealed nyx. Just like erebus who is powered and born from desires for death what's preventing erebus is the seal which is powered by people's desire to live.

@Hiraxelc Kinda late, but you're right, Erebus is NOT a Shadow. Erebus is the manifestation of all the dark desires within the hearts of all humanity in Persona 3; those people wish for the world to end for various reasons, and all those dark desires come together to form Erebus, who then can awaken Nyx, and thus brings about the Fall. Fun fact is that in Greek Mythology, Nyx, the Goddess of the Night is the wife of Erebus, the personification of Darkness. (Erebus also translates to Darkness)

Aiges is a simulacrum, her body artificial. Yu already has all three parts of his entity. Nyarlethotep thrives on the malice and hate of humanity, and as such he can manipulate a person solely on their iniquities.

As they learned more about themselves, and came to realize their uncertainty of the future, they relied on him, like before. This is supported by Aigis' awakening, she didnt want to lose a friend, she didn't want to hurt again. So she called out to him for help, and his being was able to give her Orpheus, to carry on his will to protect everyone, and make them happy.

@Kageravager Well, either way it showed more will from her side. Nix just grants a desire, while Izanami made a conscious decision based on the test she set up. Not to mention she constantly pushed the Hero to see if he wasn't all talk, even pretty much congratulating him for his unbreakable spirit. That shows she had a strong will who actually wanted to help mankind , unlike the simplistic Nix who could only grant death.

@LeonGun8 It's also rather interesting the difference between Nix and Izanami even thought they fullfill the same purpose. Nix doesn't act unless prompted to do so. On the other hand Izanami proactively nudges humans forward into the fog, almost like a test of will for mankind. In that way Nix was more pure and objective than Izanami who seemed to be enjoying humanity's struggle.

I'm just giving you a summary of the plot of the first Persona game. Anyway, at the end, they fight Pandora, who is said to manifest Maki's Nihilism, in Avidya World. After Pandora is defeated, The "Ideal" Maki sends them back to their world except for the Protagonist (Naoya) to confess her love to him, then send him back. Mikage is saved, and they graduate.

@Hiraxelc Actually that confused me a little too. They said that it wasn't a shadow yet Persona 4 clearly states that Shadows come from people's heart. If Ereberus is the malice of people's hearts then by definition it should be a Shadow. Persona 4's explanation also explains better why the shadows have always been around. Sure, they help expedite Nix's appaerance, but that's merely because they express the hidden desire of death that all human's hide in their hearts.

Perhaps what they really meant by "He's not a Shadow" was that he had trascended the scale of Shadows and become a more pure entity like Nyx. If we are to take this approach to the subject then perhaps Erebus is the end result that the researchers actually searched for. The Key to activate Nix, since Nix merely grants humanity's wish.

Well it's part of human psyche so it's always there it just doesn't usually appear because there are other part in us that make us want to live, for example I got electrocuted twice when I was younger and I have problems touching metallic electric appliances but every time I see something that presents an electric hazard I feel like touching it and that is even if I'm scared of being electrocuted, and I'm not suicidal in any way, it's just a feeling that is always there even if it's not visible.
