They did something ATLUS felt was too troublesome to do themselves. Editing pre-rendered cutscenes, especially those from a game from long ago, is no easy task. Female MC's fans are very dedicated to accomplish what ATLUS would never do. Aside from Persona 3 Portable, that being her first appearance, Female MC's only appearance was in Persona Q2 as a conformation she and male MC (P3) are the same person, but from different timelines/universes. And ATLUS other than that, typically refuses to acknowledge Female MC's existence. It's as people say, if the companies refuse to deliver what the fans want, you can trust the fans to make what they want, instead of them. This is especially true of fanbases of popular franchises

We’ll see what happens after that, perhaps there is some hope especially for a BGM set for femcs tracks but as for a whole new route it’s most probably not likely.

You know, looking at this setup of animation. It really looks like when Kotone is alone or no one is looking at her, the passive/neutral expression and unbothered by the Dark Hour occurences is well set to depict the pain. Around others, she smiles to hide the pain, which is what we see during the story itself mostly. And a sad expression on Oct 4th to express the more visible devastation and shock that Aragaki told her not to cry for him.

This is insane. Simply insane. FEMC was my first real foray into a P3 without harem route being forced on me, so she’s kinda special to me in that department. Yes they added that option in reload, but like… I simply had no desire to play P3FES due to having no option for platonic… so I have to give credit where it’s due to FEMC for getting me to experience the dark hour for the first time when I otherwise wouldn’t have until reload dropped.

I know the Movie and Reload version are excellent, and the Reload one might be my current favourite, but there is something so disorienting about the FES one, almost likes it's a dream (more like a nightmare) And him standing up and trying to walk away, almost like a cat finding a quiet place to curl up and die, it hits me hard every time.

Like the Sonic fanbase is with SEGA, if ATLUS (now owned by SEGA) refuses to deliver female MC content to Persona 3, the female MC fans of Persona 3 will deliver what they desire. The fact Persona 3 Reload is recreating the pre-rendered cutscenes of Persona 3 through ingame "actors" rather than a video file, does aid an opening chance for female MC fans to mod her route into the game. As, there's also a mod in development to add female MC route to Persona 3 Reload. btw, someone online has created a fanmade 3 Reload version of "Wiping All Out". female MC's version of Persona 3 male MC's "Mass Destruction".

In response to feedback about the upscale we are working on a brand new one! Thank you to everyone for pointing these out: - Some layers disappeared one frame early at 2:30 - One frame of animation missing at 2:44 - Slightly improved the fade in accuracy at 2:52 & 3:05 - Removed SEES armband from Kotone at 6:03 (this was an animation error from the original scene) - Redid the post-processing and shading on Orpheus at 8:17 - Fixed the animation error from the original cutscene at 12:45 in which Akihikko has Makoto's hair colour - Shot of protagonist not altered at 16:05 (Layer was accidently hidden in the final export oops) - Recomposited the shot at 25:53 with a much more accurate background (a shadowy effect was originally added here to mask a poorly filled in background)

One mistake I noticed at 5:26 is that you can very clearly see where they traced over Makoto with Kotone as the camera pans. I can see how that might be a bit difficult to try and fix, and you might have already noticed it, but there you go. Other than that, fantastic project! Very well done! This is why I scoff at people who claim adding FemMC route would somehow cost more money than it would be worth. The base game and scripts/story is all there already. If a small group of people with passion can do stuff like this in one year, it's not a monetary reason they're not doing FemMC (they could be 100% too busy we don't know, it's just definitely not because of monetary reasons).

Adding new animation clips for an entire new route and Social Links alternative route and endings use resources and costs money more than you think it is. They subcontracted an animation studio for the new 2D cutscenes (they replaced all of them, not reusing or tracing over old clips from FES or the anime movies), on top of animating the 3D cutscenes in house. They also need to tweak The Answer/ Episode Aigis storyline so that Hamuko's inclusion and certain Social Link alternative endings make sense to what's happening in The Answer. If you are thinking that just replacing the 3D assets solves the problem and completely free of using any manpower and money on the line, then you are very wrong. It would be a very reasonable move if Atlus actually make an alternative/separate version of Reload that only includes Hamuko and her SL routes like what Natsume Co. did with Harverst Moon Back To Nature decades ago, rather than just stuffing existing Reload with more contents and jacking up the price later on. Also while the clips above do took time and effort to produce, in the very end, they are just tracing over existing clips. It probably still costs money and human resources but not as much as producing an entire game from scratch even if it already has a base and layouts.
