It isn’t P3 without being able to summon a persona in a unique way. Quite frankly no one besides Atlus has had the guts to make something that is usually panned as controversial and not good for kids about as artistic and intense as this and I’m not talking bad about how personas are summoned. For each game in the series there is a good explanation as to why the MCs and party members summon their personas their way.

I'm surprised I haven't heard anyone bring up the part at 1:36 For those who don't know, Persona 3's first remake; Persona 3 FES, had a seperate story set after the main story called The Answer. This shot feels like it only makes sense in the context of that story, so if they're actually adding it to this remake despite all the doubt around it, that's awesome! But if not, the choice to include this in the opening at all confuses me

Is not a real gun. Is an evoker. It what they use to summon personas. To summon a persona the user needs to feel fear or like their life is in danger. It's a weird concept but that's how it's work. I always thought they were shooting their ego, darkness, otherself (somehow taming that side) thus they were able to control them (the personas)

the original persona 3 opening (and portable by extension) had such an abstract vibe that i ADORED, with heavy focus on death and time as that is the LITERAL point of the game. this just seems like they’re showing off the characters and the plot like that’s some sort of theme (but with style.. same thing p5r suffered from) to a new player, this their first exposure to what they’re ab to commit 100 hrs to. i miss how “weird” persona 3 felt, which definitely could’ve been attributed to its era but this is definitely feels like evidence of a step away from that. how could it be persona 3 opening without wackass latin phrases about death and mortality?

The death motifs are more toned down. The red spider lily that Elizabeth turns into a key is a symbol for bad omens/death. The torii gate and the crow are other symbols. But it's not the same without memento mori.

Atlus cooks way too good this Year. Im excited for almost each Game. But i also would like new Ports or Remakes from older Games.
