Honestly, the change to panic seems like a subtle buff in some respects. If you can block normally or reversed... doesn't that mean that you essentially always have cross-up protection?
@yuhboik.g.81182 жыл бұрын
It's kind of like the opposite of rage I guess. It makes defense easier, whilst making offense next to impossible
@shadowonefoxx2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that was my first question. Seems like so long as you aren't actively pushing buttons, the only way to get hit would be via overhead/low mixups? That feels decently strong to me - though not super familiar with Persona so dunno if those exist in spades and you're still likely to get hit by most of the cast?
@faragaroruga32292 жыл бұрын
@@shadowonefoxx Yeah or a throw Anime fighters don't have crap to do with games like street fighter, so dealing with high/low, strike/throw and left/right mixups are easier said than done
@SaberToothPortilla2 жыл бұрын
@@yuhboik.g.8118 I can kinda see the idea there, but I guess the difference is that it isn't *impossible* to attack, it's just harder. With rage, you actually can't block, there's no skill check involved. Like anyone who isn't super used to that idea will probably have trouble with it, but physically there isn't anything complicated about it. You just run your same offense as if you were on the opposite side. So it's a debuff, but only if the other player isn't insane. But effectively being given cross up protection, while not *that* significant isn't small. That can potentially make jump-ins way worse. So, for the theoretical inhuman god-tier player, the old version was effectively neutral, but this one is a straight buff.
@itsCrust2 жыл бұрын
@@SaberToothPortilla sure, on paper, but the addition of something new to think about for such a short time adds another thing you have to think about to your mental stack. if you could seamlessly switch your brain to and from panic mode, sure, the only difference in gameplay would be that you have crossup protection. but when playing fighting games, you're constantly zeroing in on whatever few things you've decided to think about, and being able to add something as severe as reversed controls to your opponent's focus zone is a huge boon as it inherently makes them more suceptible to making mistakes

You forgot to mention something important: every status effect (except rage) instantly disappears when the person that has it hits the opponent. Rage technically also does, but the damage bonus lasts the whole combo I believe. There’s also negative, which is considered a status since Elizabeth can inflict it with her counter.
@Raziel_Goetia2 жыл бұрын
to be fair negative penalty Can be inflicted any time by the game itself, so its more of a game mechanic. It just happens that Elizabeth can at any time use debilitate on you to force you into negative penalty

I’m new to this game and I’m struggling to figure out the timing of a tech called micro-dashing during combos, would very much appreciate it if you go in depth in this tech. thank you so much
@ubermaster12 жыл бұрын
I know this wont be the answer you want, but it truly is as simple as, double tapping and immediately inputting your attack. The best way to practice imo would be to play characters like Sho/Minazuki who have combos involving knockups and micro dashing, and they have the easiest ones imo. The more practice you do, the easier time you'll have doing tighter windows.
@savvyvii13772 жыл бұрын
@@ubermaster1 I have my heart set on playing Chie and I don’t know if it’s me or the window is just that tight but I’ll try those characters and see if I can get the hang Microdashing, thanks Edit: I also forgot to mention that I do get it sometimes but it’s not consistent at all, this makes me wanna say it’s a timing thing but I’m also new to the whole Microdashing concept so it might also be me…so still not sure pretty much
@The_Meev2 жыл бұрын
@@savvyvii1377 Micro dashing can be pretty difficult as it's entirely about perfecting the timing of inputting dash the moment you're out of recovery from your last attack and then almost immediately doing the attack you want to do next. It takes a lot of practice and it'll generally be best to learn how to do strong combos that don't require micro dashes instead.
@faragaroruga32292 жыл бұрын
@@savvyvii1377 Just as a head-up, everytime you encounter an obstacle in your fighting game journey, try rationalizing it and cutting it in pieces; the execution and the speed. CAN you do whatever you're looking for ? In your case well, it's just dashing, a 66 input. I don't think the problem comes from that Do you have the TIMING to do it ? Try it a few times however you want to, then try it extra early. If it doesn't work extra early try it extra late. You got it good once ? Great ! Try pinpointing the timing and perfect it There's a lot of methodology in fighting games, and you gotta be efficient with it. What matters is that you always progress :)
@SeasideUmiko2 жыл бұрын
I actually have a tip that might help you, I’m not completely sure if this works on whatever move you’re trying to micro dash out of with Chie but it worked for me with Rise so it might be worth a shot. Basically, after you do w/e move that comes before the dash, you want to do your dash input when the move is almost over and hold forward. Then as soon as the move ends the character will enter the dash animation asap. So then it’ll be a matter of timing the move instead of doing a quick double tap

@smtmonke2 жыл бұрын
My goodness you certainly chose the deep end to jump in for characters. Elizabeth is low tier and honestly a tough character to master. She doesn't get much in terms of defense when the enemy is right on her, but if you can zone them out and keep up the damage you shouldnt struggle too hard. I recommend looking up videos on her if you really like her playstyle, maybe get better with some actual gameplay and practice instead of sitting in training mode for a combo you might not come to even depend on. Remember, learning combos is a step in the process of learning a character, and rushing before understanding the fundamentals of your character and their moves is an easy way to get frustrated over their learning curve. Also Elizabeth has a touch of death if that peaks your interest too but personally I say just look for basic combo routes rn until you can get a better feel for how Elizabeth plays.
@2marshtomp2 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth is very hard, I feel her Challenge mode is exceptionally difficult, since she relies so much in the long lock-in combos to get her Hamaon skill off. If you like her, by all means play her, but I'd recommend doing some of the other characters' trials, since there are some pretty forgiving ones. Rise's are pretty easy and teach some timing skills. Narukami's is pretty straightforward, at least before the final ones, the Raijin Dance really teaches you to input stuff in a correct rhythm.

@@smtmonke i appreciate the help. it sucks because there is absolutely no game play on my character or very little. if i do find gameplay, its some semi pro who can basically do what they want when ever they want and I'm just never going to be that good. i went in knowing she was low tier but that doesn't really matter much to me because I'm low tier myself lol. originally i was going to play chie but maybe later.

Everyone claims the new games are easier when they get announced and older games are just as easy to get into while whinging about depth. You basically can't trust any opinion about accessibility in games unless it's strictly UI based stuff other than just trying it yourself.
