But romancing Marie felt like a slow burn, she only gave her first I love you when she leaves for the hollow forest, and gives a heartfelt one after you've saved her. Eden knocked that 'i love you so much' out of the park in her voice acting.

The Marie thing, I think it's more a case of the "damage" the ubiquity of harem footage online does. Since these scenes only happen if you romance Marie, and most people watch the game's story from harem playthroughs, people think these scenes always play.

"MEMORIES" A pretty decent romance route that mostly washes out the bad taste Naoto's left. Dorky Eden Riegel noises helped. Christmas was nice. I got a new pair of headphones (my previous ones died a few days ago so the timing was perfect), Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate, and a preorder for Scarlet Nexus (it looks neat enough and it's the only game on my radar for the middle of next year; I've already given up hope on getting a PS5 before Ys IX, but hopefully I'll have one well before that).

I was away for a bit so I had to watch this video and Naoto's back to back so I could catch up. I... didn't really care for the Naoto one. Maybe it is because I ship her with Kanji more than Yu, but I found the Naoto romance to be kind of cringy and a little creepy at points depending on what actions you/Yu could take. As for Marie... hers is actually pretty nice. I agree with one of the comments down below that said that Marie's romance felt like a slow burn. It was nice, and tsunderes are hilarious. (Did Dojima really not know that the ilu message was for Yu?) Anyway, how was your Christmas BigKlingy? I proposed to the girl I've been dating for seven years, getting a yes in the process, so mine was nice. I sure hope your Christmas was excellent as well. Yes. You need to max her Social Link but you don't have to romance her. (A lot of people think Marie's Social Link is always romantic, but she does have a platonic route)

So something I wonder now is why Marie is mostly disliked while Kasumi is more accepted even though at the end of the day both fulfill the same archetype of a love interest for the Protagonist added in the updated version, something that as far as I can tell tends to not be liked by more hardcore fans whenever it happens. And if anything Kasumi is even more intersected into the plot. Marie has her meeting, The Poems, her Social Link, the storyline scenes leading up to, during and after her dungeon. Valentines Day, a few scenes that flesh out the games backstory, the Social Link montage and the Golden Excluisvr Epilogue, most of these are very minor or optional, Kasumi by comparison has a lot of scenes you always see regardless of whenever you do her Confidant, the end of the the end of the Picking Up Trash Scene, the Hawaii Shopping Scene, Her Awakening Scene, the Festival Dance scene just to name a few not including the focus she gets during the Third Semseter, Kasumi hence arguably interferes more with the original plot. Marie hence actively is not integrated that much, she is not attached to any significant original game plot scenes, pretty much everything she does is side story stuff. She does get a good amount of focus I will say, but arguably no more than somebody like Kanji, Rise or Yukiko, hence I feel the complaint of hogging too much screen time does not hold that much water. Also do the people who complain about her tend to bring up her personality or is it just the spotlight and forced romance issues. Since I do know Tsunderes are not every bodies cup of tea and hence could be a turnoff to some people. I myself when it comes to Marie, I think I have a somewhat rare opinion of just not caring for her, I do not find her particularly interesting or really that funny with her Tsundere antics. Considering that I put Severa from Awakening 5th on a character sorter I did for that game I do find Tsunderes hilarious if done right, or at least I’d their antics do not venture into being physically abusive or saying something extremely heinous without apology. Despite the fact I do not like the low points of Yosuke, Chie and Teddie characters which drags down my opinion of them a bit I do really like their high points, Marie by comparison has no particular high or low points for me, she is just there. And overall although I like Kasumi a lot more, I would put her as a whole about 4th or 5th out of the Persona 5 Royal Party. I myself have to admit she had her problems in regards to integration and updating characters already in the game that Marie does not, she certainly overtakes Yusuke in regards to overall importance in the narrative, has a much better balance of focus that Haru does, having a lot of little scenes before her focus arc even though there she essentially has to share a lot of it with 3 other characters while Haru is only really relevant for one arc and even then she has to share her spotlight with Morgana, nor does she drop like a stone in focus despite being important like Ann does. So I used the Christmas Free Summon Tickets on the new Legendary Banner and continuing a sort of weird luck I have managed to get myself a Brave Edelgard out of the deal, a funny trend I noticed is that I have managed to collect all three versions of her either while searching for something else, for example when I got her Legendary version I was trying for the other two Green Mythics she was alongside or got them from a Free Summon, all of which ended up being - Speed, her least important stat while increasing her bulk in some way. So essentially I have gotten every version of a character that is summonable, all with good Asset and Flaw Combinations without actively trying for any of them when I got them.

I think one problem with marie is that it can easily feel like she is treated as a teammember even though she isnt. Everyone in the forest pretended like tgey were besties but theyve met another only a few times across a year. But what i think is the most important is that kasumis plot in the game is far better then maries. Thats probably the reason why kasumi is loved while marie isnt

@@B_A-tr - As an unoffcial Japanese Mythology researcher, I tolerated Marie’s Tsundere personality, to the point where she introduces her true identity or at least a fragment of a goddess, Izanami.😯🇯🇵 The fact that she’s a minor goddess of Inaba and is practically Yu’s husband from a past life (appropriately, he’s Izanagi, Izanami’s husband) is what made me love her character so much.☺️💙⚡️ Sumire from Persona 5 Royal however fits as Ren’s official girlfriend because of how similar their Phantom Thief outfits are to each other, Morgana saying that their goals are the same, and their Showtime says it all with dat waist grab Ren does to Sumire. (That and among other moments as well.)😆❤️🎭
