Congrats on your first ever smallie. They are fishing game changers. Nothing is better.

I like the idea of your aquarium project and to see how it progresses over time. Be cool to see the microorganisms under the microscope. Nice waters catching your 1st smallmouth, a 1st of any species is always exciting! Enjoyed the drone footage and wildlife, great video Matt!

I need to try channels like that. Insomnia is unpleasant.

Why have I not thought of a dumbbell for an anchor??? So obviously brilliant! We've lost 2 so far by getting hopelessly snagged and had to cut them loose. The latest one, a mushroom anchor, is useless. It doesn't grip anything in any bottom conditions. Will skid/slide any direction a breeze blows. The dumbbell- can choose the weight, odd shaped for sediment, has to be cheaper than what they want for proper "anchors." Thanks man!!! 👍

My wife insisted they didn't sell boat anchors. I walked out with the dumbell, her remark? That's not an anchor. Oh yes it is. :)

@@outdoorsforachange dude I would love that! I dreamed of making movies one day as a teen and lately I've been wanting to work towards that goal again but with a different focus.

What size tank? Sunfish can be picky when first moved into tanks. I have had success coverting them to pellets. I would start by getting them used to eating food you drop in (worms, crickets, etc.). Once they realize you bring food they will be more apt to accept pellets from you. A good cichlid pellet since they are predatory fish.

That one is a 30. It ate very well until I transferred it to another tank. That one started leaking so I moved the bluegill back to the 30. Now it no longer comes to me when I open the lid. It used to gobble red worms, wax worms, and some pellets. Now it's just territorial and burning energy like mad without replenishment.

Cooking straight on the coals?? Never seen that done with meat before!

Cavemen style 😎. Try it. It works perfectly. Flip it a lot if you're nervous about burning it. Scrape of the odd coal that sticks to it.

How long do you burn your fire to get the coals to cook on?
