This sounds like a good idea as long as the insurance company can't get a hold of the results and use it to increase your premiums or deny you coverage. At my age of 70, it's probably a little late to find out this information.

Gosh, I wish you were my doctor. Many of mine through the years caused the problems to get worse instead of better. I had a doctor share with me the findings on my recent scans that showed I likely had a small stroke and I have missing brain tissue that would be causing my recent symptoms the past 5 months. My memory, speech and entire left side were all badly affected. My own doctors covered it up and all said the same story, word for word and made zero sense. In the hospital, I was given a medicine that had been marked in red to never give me due to serious allergy that nearly killed me because it stopped my heart. They gave the medicine anyway, even after my family said don’t do it. Right after that, I was not remembering people, my name and all the basic facts and life events etc… I still struggle and it’s slowly getting better but I’m angry that I was treated with such malpractice and ignorance. I just turned 40. To me, not that old yet and my mind feels like it 90 years old.

Makes sense taking this genome testing. Had a DNA test only to find I had Limited Scheroderma. It is not bad at all in my case.

What the test I need to do to find what kind of disease I should be worried about?

What is the cost? To me, sounds like snake oil scam.

Whole genome testing has come down in price. In Canada in 2016 It was $5,000. I found out I have three genetic mutations. One was a super rare gene that only 50 people have world wide. It was a great relief to have an answer to my medical problems. The price now is under $1,000.

This doctor would not recommend something that was a snake oil scam. Genome sequencing is a legitimate scientific method.

@@BlueHeron654thanks. $1,000 (is that Canadian or U. S.?) is a lot for me, especially at 70 years of age. I'm not sure it is worth it at my age.
