Couple things... one, make sure your birth time is correct down to the minute as possible as you can when you do charts, as that can affect moon placement since the moon moves quickly. It's possible you're not actually a sag moon at all. Also if you have strong placements in some other signs that can be more pessimistic that could be overriding your sense of optimism, especially if you happen to have a "north node" placement in sag, which would mean you could have fears and insecurities about embracing sag qualities. In this scenario if you had sag in both north node and moon, it might be "who you are" but you are also at odds with that and don't feel comfortable embracing or expressing that nature. It could also be that your place in life is so restricting and you are so unhappy with it that you feel imprisoned and have given up any sense of optimism - the "fallen sag" I will call it. I have found myself skirting into that territory in the darkest times of my life and it's not a good place to be, but even in the darkest I've ever been there was always some kind of inner hope that says "even if everything is lost, there's still a 1% chance that I'm missing something right around the corner that will change it all for the better" - so for you to outright say you are not optimistic at all makes me think you might not even be a sag moon or you just have very strong placements in other areas that are smothering your actual sag nature.
