I don't use the fancy planners nd journals. I have several spiral bound, college ruled notebooks that I use to take sermon notes in. Currently, I listen/watch two different pastors daily, M - F, and later in the day, as well as on the weekend when their morning program doesn't air, I go back to the notes and write out all of the Scriptures referenced in the serm. I have different sizes of cute, lightly decorated note pads on which I write out the Scriptures, then I affix them to the page with washi tape. I have found this to be a very rewarding practice for me. It also gives me the opportunity to fact check the pastor! One of them, more than the other, will occasionally use Scripture that isn't really applicable to the subject. As I said, it's rare, but it happens. And the only way I am able to catch it is because I am not only reading and copying the Scripture, but I am reading the verses before and after in order to make sure that it belongs in the sermon as a valid reference. I don't have an artistic bone in my body so this gives me an opportunity to at least try to make my notes look a little fancier! And, it's definitely less costly.

Thank you so much for sharing your method! I love how you've found a rewarding way to take sermon notes and dive deeper into Scripture. I completely agree that it's good to read the Word ourselves and to look deeper into the context of the verse(s) being used because it gives us a better overall understanding but also helps us to understand the verse(s) in the way that God intended. I also agree that meaningful Bible study doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Keep up the great work, and blessings on your journey!

So in love with your ideas. Also this video was so relaxing as I listened to the verses you were reading. Do you have a list of the books you used for your reading? I’ve been wanting to use something similar for my quiet time. 🤗
