Perspective inside Affinity Designer

A great tip, thanks. This interoperability is impressive - I saw in an interview with the CEO that the files for the three programs are basically the same. Being efficient in coding across the apps hopefully can help them compete with adobe, which, needless to say has a lot more resources.

That glitch where it only wants to place a text document happens to me in every Affinity app now. I have 1.7 photo, designer and publisher. I have noticed that if you start with a text box in any of them, then all they want to do is place another text based placement. I have resorted to creating a vector object on every job I am doing and then clicking on it before I go to place something. This is annoying and time consuming if you are working with text, photos and vector within any of the apps. I hope they sort this out in version 1.7. ?

Hi there With the latest release - 3.xx there are some new distortion tools which would do this. To my knowledge I am not aware of other methods.

I was hoping for a solution that did not involve using a second software to enable perspective. I just want to make text that i can adjust perspective on and still edit the text, without having to own affinity photo (just designer)

I almost stopped watching because I was looking for a way to change the perspective of a vector object and it seemed at first that this workflow would only apply to pixel images (which I would not use Designer for). I read some comments and saw others mentioning vector shapes, so I skipped ahead and your solution seems like a great workaround and was well explained. Unfortunately, I don't have Affinity Photo since Photoshop is the only affordable offering from Adobe and I haven't made the switch yet. Guess I will have to rasterize my vector artwork to adjust the perspective.😩 Some type of perspective warp tool seems essential for a vector design program, especially if they're attempting to provide an Illustrator alternative, so hopefully they'll add the feature soon.

Hey, great Work and cool Software you are using. I have a question :) Is it possible to export layers? So i can choose in the PDF wich picture i want and can print it. I hope you understand what i mean.

Wow thanks ... that tip about saving the file from photo (with live filters) and bring it into designer .... I found out that if you save your live filter perspective as an assist ... you can just substitute the image your want to add perspective to. I am using an iPad apps and can’t jump back and forth.. but I just save the file as is affinity file and open in designer... I don’t play with the perspective grid when I apply the filter in photo ... open in designer add as an assist and then add assist ... and presto I now have perspective live filter when ever I need it. Go ahead and pass it on 😀 I should say ...to make the live filter active again in designer, just double tap the filter and all options pop up thanks steve

why are you working with pixel in the vector program? You can start this kind of work in affinity photo and end in affinity photo. Nonsense

@@gregorychard he is right. This tutorial was absolutely BRUTAL. Far too much yapping. Incoherent at times. One of the worse tutorials I have ever seen. Took almost 20 minutes to explain something that could have easily been explained in 5 minutes. JUST AWFUL.
