Lovely video walk, I’m watching from Perth, the very same… it seems the city has changed in so many ways over the years since my family moved here in 1960…. Just for some perspective, as I think it adds to the experience… Hay Street and Murray Street malls were bustling two-way streets devoid of those lovely shade trees, and (lamentably) many, many glorious old buildings have long since been demolished … the city centre in the intervening years has undergone a number of transformations, as any living city does, but one thing has stayed the same, it’s still as clean and pleasant to walk through, and I really enjoyed the walk with you this morning… although part of me kept trying to walk on the left instead of into oncoming pedestrians … (like driving, it’s customary when walking to keep to the left here)…

I'm playing catch up now. Of course, from England UK. I loved the old Post Office. I always like when the old colonial buildings are still standing. Not because of what they stood for, but the architecture is amazing. The clock and bells were amazing. I couldn't believe it when you said there was a Woolworths. I thought they had all gone. Hi Chris, yes agree I love the Old buildings, they are amazing and will never be copied, Woolworths is a major shopping mall in Australia, they would be as big as Tesco. If you love the old architecture you might take a trip to nearby Fremantle, a port city. It has amazing character and charm. It would be a day well spent. I’m commenting from West Gippsland in Victoria, about 4 hours flight time to the east of Perth ( or five days drive ). It’s been three decades since I’ve been to Perth, but good to reminisce

Perth is beautiful but has been ruined by politicians of course. It’s an Over regulated nanny state and expensive for what it is. Our mining resources bring in billions per year and none of this is returned to the state. Hence the infrastructure is mediocre at best.
