Just found your channel and appreciate your content to the most high! I'm 21 and very very serious about getting into PMs, I also seen your video on, "the things I wish I knew before getting into PMs", and I just wanted to see If you can provide me with more specific advice in starting like, 1) Hold Coins or Rounds ? 2) Does the Country that the coin is from play a significant role in coin value ,or is Silver just Silver ? (Ex: Is 1oz of a Silver Britannia coin the same value as a 1oz American Eagle Silver coin?). 3) What did you mean by holding Local Coins ? (I'm in New York) Those were my main questions and also any extra significant info that you thought a beginner should know that you didn't include in your old vids would be extremely valued to me.

Welcome to the party! Question one: I prefer coin’s over rounds because well it just makes me feel more secure. If you live in New York your tax laws are different than mine so it’s difficult for me to suggest which ones you should buy. I buy silver eagles and maple. Silver bars I buy Royal Canadian mint ten ounce bars. I like my bullion like my liquor, top shelf. Years of experience and these work best. Question 2: I usually stay on my continent when stacking but I do buy Perth mint coins when I collect. They usually go up in value and aren’t necessarily tied to spot prices. I answered question three in both of these already.

Great video! I'm relatively new and building a base of the yellow. I know Eagles and Buffalos are the most liquid and should be a safe fallback but there are so many fun options that are at or below an Eagle's price. So it makes sense all day of trading the super liquid option for a collectible option that offers scarcity as a true value add from a mint that in my opinion outputs higher quality product than the US Mint. I'm with you! Great content as always!

I'm a Canadian so most of my stack is a mix of post-2018 maples, generic rounds, and some 80% Canadian constitutional. I leave about 5-10% of my stack to personal picks that have a higher premium. I also see these as a "hold forever" portion, my generics would be sold first and other coins for barter if ever needed. The personal picks are mine and the families forever though. The Kook's are probably my favourite, perth mint makes true art pieces imo. Also have the 2023 Queen version of the the Britannia and an ASE and a few other collector coins just to keep the fun and collector aspect alive. I think I am going to work on a collection of all of the special years of the Canadian 80% silver dollars. It's about $10 over spot per coin so it's doable and the fun is worth the cost.

I do not know how to word this without sounding harsh. I think this kind of stacking is BS. You get these beautiful pieces and take them home and put them in a safe never to come out again. What is the point? You will lose more in premiums when you sell these types of items. If you’re never going to sell these items then it’s a waste of money now that I have some experience selling PMs, I want to stack only items that are super easy to sell without losing too much premium.
@SilverBritches
@SilverBritches Жыл бұрын
I don’t know how to write this without sounding harsh but if you watched my video when these first release they are generally a little more than generic coins. They’re far cheaper than any sovereign mint coins and are highly collectible which aren’t attached to spot price. This is not BS.
@FelixTheCat69
@FelixTheCat69 Жыл бұрын
@@SilverBritches This is an excellent point. So you are saying that these Lunar Series Perth Mint gold coins already have a track record of appreciating more than other bullion, which would incline you to favor these over Eagles? If they do have additional upside, why wouldn't you convert as many gold eagles or bars as you own when you can obtain these at a low premium? What is your best guess as to the break even point on premiums? In other words, how long do you think it would take to have an LCS offer you the same premium as you paid not influenced by gold supply shortages in general? 3-5 years perhaps?
@SilverBritches
@SilverBritches Жыл бұрын
@@FelixTheCat69 gold is a little tricky because it’s not collected like silver is. Most lcs just buy based on spot then sell for the numismatic numbers. Unfortunately you have to cut them out and sell yourself. I’ve sold this series before making $500 a coin. I stack eagles and buffalo to avoid paying the federal government if that makes sense.

When collecting lower minted coins hold value,and if you like them it doesn't really matter on the premium if it's not just ridiculous.Its just like Guns,baseball cards anything someone collects.And there is a big following for the lunar series go look if you can find a dragon what there selling for..At the end of the day there worth whatever someone is willing to pay to fill a collection...On the other side it's still just gold and silver to a straight stacker with no more value..There's nothing wrong with that either..
