It's interesting that i found the 'early result' to be far nicer aesthetically than the finished piece. It really gave the design some character, it looked sharper and the uneven background provided an characterful field to sit the design within.

Hey Mr, can you spare some change ? But, seriously. The premium on this coin has to be thru the roof, compared to an equal amount of simple cast bars from RCM, or Johnson Matthey...

To give you a comparison as of today's date 6/20/2014 the 2013 Australia Lunar Year of the Snake 10 KILO 999 Silver BU Maximum Mintage 200 is valued at US $10,788.00. The 10 Kilo (321.5 oz) Silver, multiply 321.5 oz today's price of silver or gold and you'll have the metal value, then you have to add the buyers premium, and collectors value on top to come up with a true value.

At the end all the coin surface is... frosty, I would have prefer the usual Reverse Proof !! I wonder what they use to make this frosty effect because just after strike we can't see it on the coin.

That's crazy they made a separate machine to make a one-off piece that won't even be for sale. Then the machine gets taken down after the coin is made. What they should do is put in a pancake and sell the edible replica at the gift shop. Roll it and fill it up with ice-cream in the dragon waffle cone.

there is no hole in the coin haha.
@blastomycosis10 жыл бұрын
There is no chance of it being fake until it is sold for the first time, so no holes will be drilled until the first buyer sell it, probably not even then, a sound machine could test it without the need to drill.
@ravnwood8 жыл бұрын
That's not a hole, it's where they polished the silver to a mirror finish. On the silver coin they show one side (no "hole") then the other that looks like it has a hole. Play back to them pressing the gold coin and you'll see the "hole" prior to polishing. It's a raised area in the design of the dragon. The next shot is of the finished gold piece and they've polished the "hole" in the dragon to a mirror shine. Not sure why, other than to give it some luster.

Why?! I know most poeple that have this kind of money r scumbags, but the silver 10 kilo coin is way more affordible than the gold one, I would imagine it to be in the $7000-$9000 USD price range.
