the moment at 5:57 when the airship leaves the port, starts flying over Xanadu and the music really kicks in harder than ever is just so perfect. The whole videoclip is so dark and moody with a detailed and atmospheric dystopian cityscape. Perfect videoclip for a perfect song!

I think the vertical slat shadows in that one shot was a nod to Gattaca too.
It gives a weird vibe. I thought of it as Gotham without Batman, but all of our dystopias tend to have either someone to pull us out or go down with the ship as an audience. This has neither.

Gonna go with depressing lol, well, the video at least. My faith in humanity just crumbling all the time, and as soon as I get out of my head long enough to stack some of the pieces up again, my faith crumbles all over. Also, not sure if perturbator is even like an atheistic approach but I guess seems pretty blasphemous at times- Tbh, the only thing that gets me through is knowing that there’s a standard for goodness and kindness and love, and I can see a model to meet myself at- while it reveals the weakness of man, it reveals the reach across the divide. Also, am I the only one who gets David lynch vibes from this video too?
@yol_n2 жыл бұрын
@@ageshero satanism is just a extension of atheism. You can draw conclusions from that as you like. As a christian, I can still appreciate the message spread from this video. Religious people forget the instructions in their texts sometimes lol... "do not fall for the false shepard" etc. The bible tells you to not kill yourself, but this self proclaimed "messiah" comes in and tells you god told you to kill yourself. And some fall for it. It's more funny than tragic to say the least. And he also happens to like children and wants to end the world. Yeah, there are people like that who claim to be good people and claim to know the lord. Maybe good-willed people should try being more cynical.
@Raven_Black_2522 жыл бұрын
@@yol_n extension of atheism? lmaoo you don't even know the definition of atheism and yet still have an opinion, lame. Atheism is not believing in any deity and supernatural force/creator. You think someone who doesn't believe in a creator would believe in a creation of god, such as satan?
@CamelliaFlingert Жыл бұрын
@@yol_n i also can intrepret this as how our own brain fools us into believing that instead of live we should kill ourselves, just because it's much easier (not in terms of bravery, this is really hard to do, because while you can't bear this life anymore you as well don't know what awaits you after death and you afraid of it, well, physical pain is unpleasant too and some people don't want to experience it), quite often case for people, who asking too much questions about the meanings and point in life and ends up living in existential crisis and becomes an pessimistic nihilists, exactly because they've stopped to believe in god and afterlife

Please see the following just as well meaning, constructive critisism: First of all I really love Perturbator and I dig the general vibe of the video especially the Metropolis/Sin City style ... BUT, I just need to point out 3 major things that were throwing me off ... 1st: I sadly noticed many rendering artifacts just as back in the "Death of the Soul" Video (5:57); 2nd: the light intensity of the neon signs is a little bit too bright and too uniform therefore distracting from the main points of interest, also some haze and volumetric lighting in the streets below would add so much to the mood - showing less means showing more (and add some sliiiiight camera shake to make pans less smooth ^^ ) (6:11); 3rd: some scenes seemed to me a little too much on the nose and leaving them in the viewers imagination may be way more visceral (4:45) just this scene alone would be enough to trigger the image in the viewers head (4:53) Again I want to point out that I don't intent to hate on this video but rather want to help to improve through honest feedback.

So if anyone feels really heavy after watching this- humans are broken and hell bent on breaking everyone else down- but there’s a light and a beauty in the destruction and waste that will be brought to the hypocrites and politicians. And deep inside of us, there’s kindness and love that can grow and bloom like precious flowers. JC my source of comfort in those dark places. Also, am I the only one who gets David lynch vibes from this video too?

I love the song but have no idea on what all the metaphors and references are. Does anyone have a sort of comprehensive explanation as to what is going on in the video? I understand it gives many references to old cinema but have no idea on what "Xanadoom" is or why the city is called "Xanadu" or why the Blimp is sacrificed in order to destroy what I assume is a sort of mega religious institution? Why is the guy doing such things to such imagery and why the twisted message in his radio broadcast? I am literally out of the loop.
