Found out my ex committed suicide… we were only apart because she said she needed to focus on her studies. Her sister broke the bad news when I asked her how they were both doing. They live in a part of the world very difficult to live in, depression is commonplace and life is generally just shit if you’re around our age… I’m talking about England. There’s immense pressure put on people our age, especially, but she was hit pretty bad with it from what I heard. She’s also been through a lot, several traumas from when she was younger that broke her spirit. When we were together, I gave her happiness… and she gave me happiness too. I live in Canada, and I’m Métis (First-Nations + another ethnicity), and for those that don’t know, this place isn’t nice. The people here are assholes. Everyone in my position, of being pro-environment, are all depressed and running out of reasons to hold on. I’ve got my own traumas, things that would break me. I’ve got a hard time feeling emotion, but I still hurt. She was my way of feeling emotion, of knowing love. I was waiting for her to get through schooling, and we had promised each other we’d be together again after… but now? What I’ve had to hold onto is gone. Before you try getting me help, I want to point out I’m not suicidal… that’s not how I want my life to end. But losing her, like how I’ve lost a lot already, is just driving me closer to going berserk. However, unlike everything else, I think losing her has affected me the most. She was my everything, my guiding reason to try my best, but now she’s gone… I don’t know how best to say this… just listen to the song… that’s how I feel, and why im here.
