This is one of the best sounding P-basses I've ever heard! The bass looks killer too. Wish I would've seen this video before installing a Fender '62 pickup with liquid shielding in the cavity. Your audio in this video is very good as well, can actually hear the bass tones.

Ok "Boys and Girls" out in YT-land that post all of these crap instrument demos, take note of this guy. Listen to how clear the sound is; listen to how well the bassist plays; listen to how well he demos all the tonal range of the instrument. Are you inspired to check out more information about this bass? "Yes....yes you are". This is how a musical instrument "SHOULD" be presented on YT. Good job my friend.

That's probably one of the best sounding stock P-Basses i have heard even before the pot was installed. I like the brightness of it and even with the tone rolled all the way off it doesn't sound too fat and lifeless. I ran into an old Japanese P-Bass that was a blue that i have never seen before in a Fender kind of a sky blue and that sounded close to your tone. I recently went to Guitar Center and played some American P-Basses for over a grand through a Mark Bass rig none the less and none of them had a tone worth the price they were asking.
@andreydyumaev51319 жыл бұрын
GCs bass section can be random... often a cheap usedie owns everything up to musicmans 10x its price. gc employees just dont know bass also markbass rigs SUCK something spectacular. for new stuff, try it with a Peavey or Hartke 115, whole different story. used carvins can be pretty nice too, like 80s carpeted xtuff

Sounds great I have one on my P Bass with Flats. Actually his description is wrong as tone 1 is at full anti-clockwise and is the most powerful EQ circuit, and is equal to a tone pot of any resistance value plus a .1uF tone cap, when also set to full anti-clockwise rotation (zero ohms). #10, adjacent to full clockwise, is the least-powerful EQ circuit, because it's equal to a 250k tone pot plus a .050uF tone cap, when set to the brightest full-clockwise rotation. These two ToneStyler circuit positions could be considered as the means to "duplicate" the maximum and minimum tones of standard tone pots. Lastly, #11 at full clockwise is NO CIRCUIT (aka true bypass). It completely disconnects the ToneStyler from the pickups. As such, it's actually more powerful in tonal result, than some upper hi-cut ToneStyler choices, because true bypass creates both a treble BOOST plus a signal BOOST. The true bypass tonality can be duplicated in any instrument by either disconnecting the tone pot, or by using a "no-load / true bypass" tone control. So, the unique ToneStyler EQ shapes are found in positions #2 through #9 - these tones cannot be created by any standard tone pot, switching methods, or amplifier settings.

This is bad ass! Great playing too! So it looks like StellarTone is no longer offering the Bass Ten Short and now they're only selling the Bass Eleven. I also noticed that there are 3 options - option B adds a stacked volume/tone depth pot along with the ToneStyler pot - I have not found any video demo for this option.. The description reads "The outer DC ring knob adjusts the ToneStyler's EQ strength and treble balance, and the inner stacked knob controls the pickup volume." - So apparently there can be some control over the ToneStyler's settings, but that leads to several questions that the description doesn't cover: What then, is the default EQ strength and treble balance setting of the ToneStyler? How exactly does the Tone Depth adjustment effect these parameters? Why would I want that control? Without a video demo of this, it's hard to imagine what it actually does. As far as I can tell, your Bass Ten Short is all I would want! My main question is, do you have any experience with this option and can you explain what it does? Or do you know of a video demo for it? Thanks :)

So is it both a switch and a knob? As in you can switch between 10 settings and at the same time control how much is going through the filter?
@pertybass9 жыл бұрын
Don Campbell at Stellartone replies: "No... a ToneStyler only contains a rotary switch. It selects between six to eleven discrete (fixed) full-strength tone circuits. It does not incorporate an internal "strength" adjustment. This separate function can be added via a second external pot (or switch) to insert a series resistance between the ToneStyler and the pickup signal. The two controls then work together as a "mega tone pot", to adjust both EQ strength, plus resonance and cut off frequencies. Please see www.stellartone.com/info for complete information."
