Peru's Worst Pizza 🇵🇪

■ PERU, CUSCO: Having had nothing but poor overpriced meals (with two possible exceptions) in restaurants throughout Peru my expectations weren't exactly sky high as I ordered a pizza from the hotel I'd just arrived at in Lima.
In fact I'd promised myself to not eat at a restaurant again whilst here. But three things made me change my mind. First, I had not had time breakfast in Cusco before my flight to Lima, and was hence starving. Second, the boutique hotel I'd just checked into was so ridicilously pricey that I thought, surely they can cook a decent meal. Third, and most importantly, the restaurant menu was dominated by Western fast food option. In other words, my kind of menu!
So I decided to give pizza in Peru yet another go! Needless to say, that's something I shouldn't have done. . . for nothing could have prepared me for the disaster that showed up when room service came knocking at my door! This was hands down the worst pizza I've ever had!

Ex-restaurant manager here. If you ever order something and end up hating it you should definitely tell the manager and politely ask if they could help you out (to zero out what you ordered and let you re-order). 99% of the time they want good reviews/publicity and would be more than happy to rather than let a guest leave unhappy. Just don't eat like 70% of it and then say you don't like it, that's obnoxious and will make you look like a shill. PRO-TIP: If you suspect they are going to give you a hard time say it tastes spoiled/rotten and you don't trust it. It gives a double excuse to get rid of what's in front of you and not get a re-order of the same meal (because obviously, it will come from the same supply.).

Looks like you skipped the part of investigating Peruvian food. Peru is known for its food and many tourist go the there strictly for that. You've been missing out on most of it from the looks of it. The only Peruvian dish that you've eaten so far was chancho al palo which was the pork that you've had and you actually liked it. If you're looking to eat pizza then you're better off going to Italy. If you want to try real Peruvian food, go to not so fancy restaurants or the street vendors. No hotel food is ever that great and wherever you go, try to order typical Peruvian dishes. The food is great and there's a reason why Peru has the biggest and best food festival in Latin America every year. Your videos are very fun to watch and you've easily become my favorite travel vlogger. Keep up the good work and I hope you finally find good Peruvian food!

When visiting areas like this we have always made good acquaintances with local cab drivers. We ask them to take us to the “non tourist” areas. They always show us “their” area with pride. We have been up in the hills and mountain areas where we have seen local children playing in streams, and eaten at small local pubs, and seen culture and living that otherwise we wouldnt have gotten to see. We have asked the drivers to spend the day with us, and bought them lunch, drinks etc, Then end the day with a very good tip that makes their day too. They have shared their phone numbers with us too.....great memories.

Wow that’s a lot for what he got. Not a great way to end his Peru trip which had many great highlights. Harold if you are planning to decompress in Thailand let me know as I will be there next week. I think it’s the best place that is affordable with many great hotels with bright gyms but of course you would already know that.

We stayed in an upscale Hotel in Wuxi China for about 6 weeks while installing a manufacturing facility. The room was very similar to yours, maybe even nicer and it cost about $108 a day with an extra $12 for meals. It was VERY nice to have a landing spot that nice in a foreign country.

Other cities actually have more restaurants in the top 25 over the 2 Lima only has. It's a top 50 list and 85 percent of the list are the same european countries over and over again while peru is mentioned 3 times i think in the top 50. Looking at the bigger picture it paints a whole different story eh. Make a story smaller and suddenly everything starts becoming more intense but look at it the way it should and it suddenly isn't that big of a deal anymore. When percentage wise looking to a top 100 the list would say over 90 percent being European countries while the other 10 percent represent the rest of the world. So according to you the 10 percent is higher than 90 percent ? Bettee start doing your math differently since that's not how it works. @@Toneeeeee23well, I understand "the normal guy approach" but he didn't even make the effort to go and try good pizza in Lima and there are plenty places with excellent pizza , I had pizza in Argentina that it was great, I had pizza in Italy that was also good and the pizza I had in Lima was at the same level of good, I wrote some info here of where to find good pizza in Lima, Lima has great places for "regular guy " food too, I understand that his channel is not about food but you don't go around telling people that the food in Peru is the worse when you didn't even try it ,I will feel bad also if somebody will say the same about Mexican food without trying any Mexican dish, Mexican food is also great ,is like going to Mexico and eat only bad pizza or hamburger and then going around telling people how bad the food is in Mexico,......not good , not right and is not fair, if you have a channel like this you have some responsibility to give to your followers good and reliable information besides your travel experiences, in his travels he shows and talks about many thinks and also talks about food .

I've traveled extensively, and being American myself I can tell you what you get for the price here is VERY poor compared to what you get in most parts of the world. You can get WAY better quality for half the price in many lovely European cities and towns than you can get in even the unknown american towns that tourists would never think about travelling to.
