finding advance shooting in pes 2016 changed the game for me, i love not scoring the same goal over and over. it made it from great to amazing. they did something to it though, it's not as varied as it used to be. you used to have full control, i could score through the goalkeeper's legs, it was that responsive. and depending on the position of the player shooting it used all the shot types.. since 2019 though, it's 95% laces full movement when shooting no matter how hard you shoot. probably i have to re learn it, but it's annoying. btw if you are new to advance shooting...be careful with the empty net :P (top tip lol)

exactly, there is a random to it. In the past if you shoot from 30 meters or wherever if you don't hit any direction ball would go in the same place, middle of goal where the GK sits, no it goes in total different places, You can try in training from different places on the field. I don't like it anymore. i even had it that I put target in left and he shot in right. It's really facked up

It becomes 2nd nature with a bit of practice. Its genius shooting mechanism for so many reasons. I will never use anything else. The game is a ton better.

@@higgins007 it almost there with advanced shooting, just bizarre direction inputs, plus it's programmed awfully, I hit the woodwork constantly, it's fairly simple to be able to aim high and low and power your shots accordingly, the power bar shouldn't only affect elevation, maybe holding R1 for power drives, different to R2 for controlled shots, this could be applied to heading where we have no option, R2 could be glancing headers, L1 for high looping headers, this way people who like it how it is aren't affected but people who want to score a more variety of goals, holding R2 and R1 for power finesse like coutinho, so you can score from further out with controlled shots, just ideas off the top of my head, your thoughts?

@@jongbong1912 I don't see how you can aim high or low with manual shooting. The best I can think of is to add a modifier (hold L1 or whatever) but then this gives a binary decision between high and low. I think the perfect solution has been found already: Advanced Shooting. It's brilliant.

I've always used advanced shooting, such a larger selection of finishes. It does take some getting used to but once you master it you won't use basic again! Works great online too.

As someone who is new to PES I really love your videos. I watched a lot of advanced shooting tutorials and in a lot of them it was said that the camera or where the player is facing is impacting the advanced shooting. I tested it multiple times, and for me, if I hold the analogstick down/left while playing from left to right I will always shoot in the bottom left corner(pov of the opponents goalie) it doesn't seem to matter if my player is facing the goal or the sideline or what camera I am using. The only variable that seems to matter is if I play from left to right or from right to left.

Well, I had tried the advanced shooting, but it was a nightmare. I prefer the basic shooting, as it offers me more control into the player's moves and positioning. But it's a matter of everyone's ease. I prefer basic shooting, though I'm sure that those who use the advanced shooting will find this tutorial VERY useful. And I hope that Konami has made ameliorations to the advanced shooting, so as to be more useful than in previous versions.

I discovered that when you enter the defenders field your shot is different than an outside field shot. For example if you shot with very little power inside the field your shot reacts like a controlled shot, but if you manage the same shot, this time outside this field, your shot reacts differently, like a very weak shot.

Advance shooting is bad for regular teams without the high-level finishers, like most 4 star teams and below. You will notice that so many shots hit the bars or are saved by the goalie. I wish Konami could tune this a bit.

true, but it is not due top player you use to shoot, I used neymar , kruijf , lukaku etc. It's the way is built...They just changed it from previous versions, not in good way if u ask me

I must have missed this video! So basically so toward centre of goal, ball goes up. Aim 90 degrees to the far touchline ball goes far post. 90 degrees go near touchine- near post. So if I'm positioned in this camera angle so the goal is to my right and down, to go bottom right I'd push the stick pretty much to the right? I swear 19 was up for far post down for near regardless of your position but then I stuck with the normal camera. Had it changed or did I just not run into that? This might explain why, when I put a cross in, hold left (shooting to right) to shoot, the ball flies past the far post; because I'm inadvertently aiming up there?

Thanks to this video I scored some beautiful goals in master league.. But I am not confident of aiming the left stick too diagonal towards the goal Because I afraid the ball will go high or the goalkeeper might catch it.. I prefer low drill shot with full power.. I've been playing Pes forever and still prefer Pes over Fifa but I think this is one of the things Fifa does better on the pitch than Pes. Even finesse shots in Pes look a little weird or sometimes way to slow, doesn't feel as natural. Also Basic mode is not bad but it is very restricted (if you are inside the goal area on a 1v1 and you want a hard low shot it is almost impossible). I use Advanced and it makes it better but sometimes way too many shots on the post. Anyway, good video!

The issue I've got with this system is that the crosshair is totally pointless, because it's too wide and the trajectory of the ball doesn't follow its loophole exactly. They need to apply more precision to it, otherwise it just ends up being as random as basic shooting. Can't honestly say the ball goes where I've set the shot the vast majority of the time. Basic shooting is actually more reliable.

Thanks spoomy but I'm so confused! When doing a corner if I aim with assisted even a smidge past the post say left on a right corner it goes so far wide on a header or volley. But you're saying if I pull the opposite direction all together on advanced it will hit a downward header? Not go away from the goal? Only advanced? I do the one down from advanced I think semi assist

Fine tune it, but... there's no harm in pushing it full lock, just not towards goal unless you want to send the ball to the moon. (See my 2021 version)

I just realized that my shooting is on the default (Basic) :/ that's why it feels so cpu controlled when I shoot.. :D sometimes I just slightly press the button, to do the low shot, and the player just canons the ball like a rocket.

No mate, sometimes when you pass it back via a throughball if you hold sprint and then release it after his first touch it'll let the ball roll a bit (see my dipping shot tutorial to get an idea of what this looks like)

You can't use rising or dipping shots with advanced shooting. As for mid level shots you need to aim up or down on stick if you're in dynamic wide cam

I' m starting to think that PES is not for me, maybe I suck at this game, but I have the impression that giving a first touch passes is a great challenge. When I give a pass, I can see who will receive it and other players positions, so before the player receives it I know where I want to give my next pass, so what I do? I press the pass button while directing the pass to the position I want it to go, what the AI does? the player receives the ball, try to control it and then lose it because obviously, the other player will pressure you... takes too long, realistic? Also, I find myself getting the ball and running towards the goal, what my other players do? They STOP!, or slow down, like 6 against 1 would be a cool thing to watch, they basically flip me off while I would like to figure how can I make them run to empty spaces like a normal player would do. Also: Am I the only person in the whole world who feels that the players act like dummies sometimes? the ball is running to their direction and then, suddenly, they start to run the opposite way! Am I the only one???, The game gives you tips: " If you need to pass the ball to the furthest player, then you need to press the pass button for a longer time, what happens when I do that? The pass goes to the player that is positioned closer to me, I don't get it, this happens especially when I try to give a lofted pass, I do fill the bar to the maximum, and I still can't get the pass where I want to. We all know about the dummy defense running to the player who receives a pass so it can leave a player free to receive the next pass, I hate that, easy to fix, but hate it, who does that in reality? That is why I don't understand why some people say the game is very responsive... to me is totally the opposite. Maybe I will open a channel dedicated to unexplainable AI behavior in the game because KONAMI clearly thinks that the game is perfect and they haven't fixed this for a long time. Or maybe the game is only for PROS, that why the name, should I try FIFA? is it better?

Hey dude, wow. I understand most of your points and have had those happen to me...which is why I use something called super cancel. It takes the AI out of the equation giving you full control. sure, you shouldn't have to do that...but that's the way it is. Check out my Ultimate Weapon tutorial.and then try using it in game. As for players going to press a player when you don't want them.to... adjust your defensive instructions to conservative and all out defence. You'll find it a lot better I'm sure. Also deep defensive line on a 451. As for passing, don't hold it all the way. 40-50% for close passes and 70-90 for those longer passes. Cheers

Bro, I just learned the advance shoot 3 months ago. At the beginning, I missed a lot of open net shot over the net or hitting the post or cross bar like crazy. I was so frustrated especially you only get 2-3 chance in a avg online game. Once you learned that, it is very good on one on one situation. You really can drive the ball to upper or lower corner depend on the goal keeper. The best part is you can over power the lower corner shot. Basics shooting mode will be upper corner based on the power. Hope it help.

Great for low driven shots, long looping soft shots and downward headers and volleys. All that can't be performed by command on basic - it's taken away from you...however I still prefer basic...but that's just me.

Is it just me or have they made advanced shooting better? Before when I aimed for the far post it would go wide. The circle wasn't even on goal. I would have to pull back to aim at the near post just to have a chance at going on target. Now I can actually shoot across the box and curl into far corner.

I played some guy last night online in the PES2020 demo who beat me 5 - 0 but I actually played good and got more chances than him and could of maybe made even won if i could finish like a pro. I couldn't finish on basic shooting and hit the post a few times that game for whatever reason but he finished every chance he got easily it seemed like on Advanced shooting. I might have to try it. my one problem is since i play both games and I use the low driven quite a bit in fifa ... i basically want to do the same thing in pes and well basic shooting does not let me really so I guess I might try advanced. problem is advanced shooting is not easy for some new user just to pick up and start finishing though like you can in FIFA... you actually must have to practice it to master it because I have tried it a few times and I haven't got it yet... yes of course I can hit the low shots in advanced but when it comes to upper corners I always shoot high more often than not during the actual match.. I'm going to watch this video and try it again. I want to hear from all the PES myclub gamers though.. should i try to use advanced or stick to basic? I think I"m just frustrated because my overall game is good in PES but I can't finish every time easily like i can in FIFA. and i'm not sure if it's just because in PES it's more difficult or I'm not that good yet. but the guy i played last night made it look easy on advanced shooting. i was impressed. he was a lethal finisher.

Great read and comment. I prefer basic myself...give Adv further tries and testing. I find in FIFA, you're through one on one and as long as you choose a corner it's almost always a goal. In PES you have to think about player strong foot, which side the goalie is covering, is he narrowing the angle too much, can I chip him? Can I sprint past him? That's what makes the 1 on 1s so entertaining. It's a battle of wits and my advice would be to be instinctive and not plan what you're going to do... Respond to goalie position etc. Videos will be coming on finishing.

you can't play both games and be good at it. I played FIFA from 98 until 2016 and PES from 2013 until now+ 2 older versions. They are simply 2 different games in terms of controls. But if you want to still play both and be decent, stick to basic shot. Basic system is similar in both games. I am an advanced shooting player. Whenever I go to play FIFA, (which is rare lately) I have difficulties scoring. As you know in FIFA , if shot is powered up more than 65-70% or so, many times ball is out of target. In advanced shooting u get used to power - up shots at 85% - 90%, many times fully and target opposite the goal for low shots as they used to go in more often(not anymore as they screwed it since 2019). Now after u do this long enough, when you go to FIFA, you'll shoot in the same way which will send the ball outside the stadium and u need to run and bring it back.

@@Davics02 advanced shooting doesn't function properly in this game since last year. I tried it a little but it doesn't always shoot where you aim, so after many years of advanced I switched to basic and when I have time I shoot manually. Anyway, the teoretic idea would be that when preparing to shoot, don't hold direction. Only after charging the shot a little then use direction. For finesse there's no difference, you only need to find some specific spots from where to shot. Finesse shots enter much easier on basic. Advanced is more for power shots, as you can charge it more and still hit the target, but again they kind of ruined advanced shooting...

I must have weird settings bc I only power up about 35% and miss the net completely or hammer the post 5-8 times per game. I've started tapping shoot as quickly and little power as possible and it just hammers the crossbar.

The shooting in this game is SO INCREDIBLY BAD. I've given this game so much time but I finish w/ 10 shots and MAYBE 3 on target every game. I tap the shoot button for a slit second in close and Rashford, Martial and Greenwood kick it into the 20th row. Whenever I get luck and hit the net, it's always crossbar. I'm playing ML and I'm about to delete the game. I like it so much more than FIFA but it's the same story every game. I get beat by long distane shots w/ trash players from weak EPL teams and I have to battle every game for 1 goal. Any time I have space it's either a laser beam CB that comes out of nowhere to give me the signature PES stubbed toe or I kick it wide. Please tell me I have a setting or something wrong bc this is unplayable and I'm about to delete the game.

@@Nagunai It's a timing thing mate. You have to hold circle first, then quickly manipulate the analog. If you push analog while holding circle, the target error will be bigger
