Thanks, Spoony, now I realised what I was doing wrong when I targeted to the far post, but I was short and cut. Unfortunately, the lockdown has closed the net cafe I go and I had no chance to test all of your tutorials. But in the first chance, I'll do it. Now, as for the header, the correct player usually has height, weight (so that he has the strength and height to play headers), secondly the jump. If you have this type of CF, which I call "high for", he is the right person to count for headers. Apart from the Target Man tactic, there is also the Centring Targets advanced tactic, which I use a lot when I have to count on a high for. I suggest that you should transfer the ball to the side, so that you have enough space to cross. Have a nice time, everyone keep yourselves and your families safe in this time of pandemics.

Penalties are harder to capture but... if I get into a pen shootout... then sure! :)

I hardly ever touch the left stick to choose a direction towards the goal when I cross the ball ( basic shot, not manual or advanced).I think this is the key point. Players automatically head/shoot the ball to the best angle. I also noticed that early cross's special button doesn't really work in manual passing which is annoying.

Hi Spoony, thank you for this video. Sometimes, when I play with small CFs, like Messi, Romario and Griezmann, I use the early cross even outside the box you drawn, closer to the goal line, that provides a mid-air cross good for the smalls ones too, have you ever tried it? Thoughts ?

Hey spoony nice video, can you please explain to me which stat affects low crosses? Low pass or lofted pass? I'm a bit confused since the low cross is executed with the same button as the lofted cross but at the same time looks like a stronger regular pass.

Don't know if it's just my tactics but after last update I noticed my players stopped coming near post for cross. Every time I try low driven cross it always goes to a defender and my player is always standing behind aimlessly. Usually attack with centre targets and att full backs never had a problem until recently playing on superstar . Great video spoony go to guy for anything Pes related . Big respect 👏🏽👏🏽💯

If I'm not mistaken, downward header either L1 or R1 just before your head hit the ball. There is still a modifier for normal, downward or lob header.

In myclub, I never saw anyone elses but me who has their 'favorites go to move' is an early cross in their playstyle analytic lol. 😂

Still playing PES 2021, because it remains the best football game around and Spoony's videos are still very helpful. However, there is something about crossing that I miss from old PES like PES 6. When we have more than one player in the box, it's hard to select whom to cross to, as the ball mostly goes to the near post. In PES 6, if I am crossing upwards, I would press Circle+Up to cross to the far post, Circle+Down to cross to the near post and only Circle to cross to the middle of the box. This was very intuitive. Is there any effective way to do this in PES 2021?

Do you know how to score glancing headers or kicks from crosses? Everyone goes wide, and mostly the miss is so bad that the ball is more likely go go out for a throw than a corner.

On manual... sure, but on PA1,2,3 that's a lofted through-ball and would fail in wide positions quite often.

Is the player angle important for a good cross? I tend to go for a 45 degree angle to the touchline ideally for a high/regular cross. I never input a direction for the cross or header. I score an awful lot of them. About 30% of my myclub goals come from crosses (probably 90% of those come from Becks).

Better to turn inside if poss but it doesn't matter that much, L-Stick direction is obviously important.

Definitely start with using L1 to fight for better position while the incoming ball is still in the air. You can manually move your player in front or behind of the opponent, depending on where you project the ball to land. But your move needs to be swift, ball flight is only a few seconds, and you still won't win all duels. You should def. win more, though.

I've got the problem that very often when my player has time and space and literally only needs to head the ball, really a sitter, they suddenly try some weird overhead and bicycle kicks, which would be cool, if they wouldn't miss them almost everytime. If you're winning the game pretty safely, sure, try to make it a stunning goal, but if it's 1-1 at the end of the game, I'd actually rather take the header that nearly can't be missed instead of the spectatcular bicycle kick. ^^'

Was just thinking whike playing pes2020 is in some of the old pto evolution soccer games you coukd see all thr scores at half time see what team below you and above you where getting on. Wished they brought that back in. And dont kniw if there was over the years game in hand if you played European cup match you might have league game in hand n stuff. Most of the time a drilled cross but a through ball is fine if close but it's a bit random so I'd always go with drilled

So L-stick determines if it goes left post (push up) or right post (push down). Power determines height

Sure, so when you press shoot, this is the time your player will jump (if needed). So don't press it too late...ideally when the ball is 50% of the journey to your striker....for the majority of crosses but those smashed in (from a corner for example 100% power) then you'll need to push the shoot button much sooner

It's aimed using your L-stick so ensure you're pushing it in the correct direction. Which cam are you using?

You're probably using the 'Alternate' controls, more similar to FIFA. Shoot & cross should also be swapped.

I find it so infuriating when my player doesn’t take advantage on the pace on the ball and just heads it over the crossbar, no matter how softly i press the shoot button. Maybe i’m just bad at headers since i mainly play a style which is ground passing, i’ll have to get into the training ground and practice
