I often wonder if you get accused of following someone around on your walks. It must be difficult doing these walks with planning a route and avoiding tailing someone. From the very little I have travelled in Italy and France. I must say I loved the small places and the people I have met and stayed with in Italy usually in inexpensive family B&Bs and never in Motels as I prefer the locals be paid rather than profits going to large wealthy businesses, in some cases overseas owned. It was a shock to me when I visited Italy and France and saw some of the medieval castles and buildings that had the various torture relics as to just how confrontingly brutal, religiously superstitious and unjust life would have been and hope that such cruelty could never return ever. Unfortunately some of those elements still remain today.
