-An estimated 72 million birds are killed by pesticides and other toxic chemicals every year. Birds are not the only victims - overuse of harmful pesticides has led to insect population declines and adverse human health effects.
Yet these dangerous chemicals are widely available and used for everything from food production to home gardens.
In this webinar, we discuss the impacts of pesticides, how existing regulations are working - or failing - to protect the environment, and how individuals can reduce pesticide use at home.

For HOA's, get involved with other homeowners and elect board members who promise to vote against poisons. Generally, people with kids, dogs, and are health conscious will agree to vote for them. Currently, our grass is sprayed with vinegar to kill dandelions. Even though it's spot treated, a neighbor found 2 honeybees writhing on the sidewalk. (I've asked to leave dandelions for the bees, but the lawn is an HOA priority) We are in severe drought, but the current board won't budge. At least I was allowed to make some pollinator corridors during the pandemic. Glad to see this is a group effort. I support ABC, CFBD, and Xerces.

I do not use any chemical products. I use natural products. There are times when I catch any bug's including spider's and such inside the house with a glass jar. I bring the jar outside and place the insect's on the lawn. I love all wildlife and they all deserve to live. ALL life has something to do with the ecosystem. I don't even rake my leaves until the following Spring. Thank you for the great webinar.

So I was wondering if it is okay to use cedar oil to treat the lawn? I am trying to control fleas and chigger. The manufacturer claims that it is safe for bees and butterflies.
