Pet Photo Booth Helps Shelter Dogs Get Adopted

** Looking to adopt a pet? OGTV's first GOOD STORY of the week is about a shelter in Utah that provides a "photo shoot" moment for each shelter dog to help them get adopted. **
Have you ever found it difficult to connect with a pet in a dog shelter? They are loud places where lots of animals are jumping, barking and competing for your attention. That's why the Humane Society of Utah decided to give each dog its individual chance to shine in front of the lights of their staff photographer, Guinnever Shuster, to show off its unique personality.
By separating each dog from the pack and allowing a snap shot to reveal what makes each dog special, pet lovers are getting the chance to form a connection with these animals before they ever step foot inside the dog shelter. Thanks to the magic of social media, the Utah Dog Shelter has potential dog owners lined up for the opportunity to provide a lucky pet a forever home.
Development Director Jamie Usry appreciates the power these photos have to increase adoption rates. "We get about 12,000 animals a year," she notes. "We're actually able to save over 10,000 of those animals."
It's said that a picture is worth a thousand words, but to this Humane Society, their pictures are worth thousands of animal's lives.
