The complete collection of Pet Shop Boys singles in chronological order. “SMASH" will be released on Parlophone on June 16th in a variety of formats including 3CD box set, 6LP vinyl box set and digitally, as well as two special limited edition formats available exclusively via the Pet Shop Boys store - 6LP white vinyl box set and 3-cassette box set. A 3CD/2Blu-ray edition will also be released which includes the complete video collection of the singles plus extras.

From what I remember, they thought it was dull and depressive and in hindsight they wanted something more uplifting to go along with the song. Also, in the liner notes of the "Further Listening"-edition for Bilingual, Chris says that it is the worst video of their career.

How many extras did they employ for this video shoot? I suspect it shows the same 30 people in each segment to create the illusion of a miles-long queue on a shoestring budget. I loved the concept of people queuing for ages only to look into a mirror that reflects their deepest wishes-really just a metaphor for narcissism.
