The movements of Minangkabau Piring Dance in Negeri Sembilan were inspired by movements of their daily lives to show gratitude to their deity. All movements in Piring Dance is fast and lively. This dance challenges the dancer’s quick respond to the movements. The plates will be thrown on air and smashed it on to the ground. It must be started with “sembah buka” and ends with “sembah tutup” or else dancers cannot straight away start the dance with the requirement stated above.
