So good to hear Pete's voice again! I listened to him for years and had the opportunity to meet him at an Aztec Two-Step "Simon & Garfunkel Songbook" show at the Outpost in the Burbs. He was very gracious and signed one of his books for me!

Listening to his voice fills me with great melancholy and gratitude. No details need to be added. You Fornatale Fans know what I mean.

I'm black, lived in Harlem most of my life. I loved "Where rock lives" since the 60's and my heart has ached for all these years since they took them off . Pete, Allison and all of them had me keep it grounded. I can't and won't accept them being off air period!

Wow, Gary, this was so beautiful to see. As a friend of Pete's who also worked with him during the last few years of his life, and someone who currently works with Rex, it blows my mind that I had never stumbled onto this! We are 'keepers of the faith' here at the Port Washington Public Library, where we have the Pete Fornatale archive, and we will be sure to link to this great piece when we finally get a web page up!

I grew up getting all my exposure and fascination with this era of rock and roll through the calming expertise of Pete, Alison, Scott Muni, Jimmy Fink, Dennis Elsas etc. Radio was the best back then!

Fellow Bronxite here, living in California more than 30 years. Like any kid in NYC we had our radio on, and really Pete Fornatele was the guy. I loved Scott Muni and Pete Fornatele held down the airwaves on the edge of Scott...and what I really remember is that Pete had a show on the weekends that was a folksy 3 hour instrumental show that feel made me listen to music from my heart.

There were very DJs that identified themselves with who they were simply by saying their OWN NAME on the air. Pete was one of them.
