Well yeah, it's all about those laws. It's not ok to just hit children but as I grew up, if a kid was disrespectful to an elder, he wooped his behind, bring him to his mom and dad and then they would woop his behind again. Nowadays they get sued by the parents and the little arrogant prick will go ahead and treat the elderly even worse, since now he knows he's protected. So there is almost no way for them to acknowledge their mistakes since they don't really suffer consequences, the only problem is when the kid grows up and disrespects someone who doesn't give a shit at all and will just stab him or worse.
