Peter Smith (formally Schmidt, 1892 -1979), was an American producer and narrator of light comedy short films. Once his skills were discovered he produced and narrated 150 short movie subjects for MGM from the 1930s to 1955 entitled "Pete Smith's Specialities". These were essentially dry looks at many different aspects of life. The sort of stuff that we all face, but seldom comment on. Pete's commentaries on such aspects of life were often very funny.
Here we have his observations on guests from 1945...note that the obligations of the host are always exploited either consciously or not...to the advantage of the guest, one way or another. It appears that shame is not spread evenly in this world.
