I'm not trying to generalize with my opinion, but some fans including myself liked them because of their more rock or pop-punk style. That being their older albums and stuff. SR+R was also a good album and AB/AP wasn't as good, but alright. It's just not a good song in my opinion because IT'S A HUGE LEAP of their music. You can argue that it's not because of Immortals, but that was just a song for Big Hero 6 and it sounded good at least somewhat bearable (can't stress this enough) IMO.You can also argue that Paramore did the same with Hard Times, but it's a pretty nice style they've done all Walk The Moon kinda vibe. But I personally don't think that they did a good style/change in their music. People can say that bands can change their sound all they want and what's the point in having the same sound throughout. But it shouldn't fucking matter how catchy the song is, it should b the message it conveys.

Mania means mental illness.. So expect something from that album
@Jessafur7 жыл бұрын
Mania doesn't mean mental illness, it IS a mental illness.
@ProjectJakeEvans7 жыл бұрын
Emily Carpenter is it? i thought it was a symptom. didnt know it was also an illness itself
@Jessafur7 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response, wasn't getting notifications from KZbin comments for a few months. Mania is both it's own mental illness and is also the second observed symptom of Bi-Polar disorder, the other being depression. Mania is characterized by an overly optimistic personality to the point where it can endanger someone's well being. As an example, someone suffering from mania may give away all of their possessions, quit their job, drop out of school or break-up with a significant other because they feel as though they are burdening them and that life will be better or perfect without them. They also may do similar things because they feel secure in where they are at in life even when they are not and they do not think about or expect an consequence from those actions. It isn't exactly the opposite of depression, but it's as close as a mental illness comes to being so. I probably haven't done the explanation justice but I think I did well enough.

I love the new song so much. Its already getting hate because people don't like new music. Unfortunately, they want the same sound.
@lemonlad59197 жыл бұрын
Makenna Phelan I don't think it's because people hate new songs - it's that people wanna stay different. That's the #1 issue people seem to have. It sounds like the "generic pop" on the radio and people just wanna stay in their 2006 emo days when nobody knew these bands.
@makennaphelan85787 жыл бұрын
Oops I have never expected fob to stay 2006 music. They like changing up their sounds
@lemonlad59197 жыл бұрын
Makenna Phelan Exactly! It bothers me when people act like they expected the band to be the same as 10 years ago. I can understand "missing the old fob", but you can't deny them the right to change it up
@makennaphelan85787 жыл бұрын
Oops Yup. Exactly. You're one of the first people that has an intelligent opinion. Fall Out Boy changes up their sound for their experiment, not for anyone else. Someone even tweeted patrick asking "Will you guys be making an album like Inifnity on High?" And he replied "No. Every album will be different" and people can't accept that FOB doesn't want to stick with the same stuff.
@lemonlad59197 жыл бұрын
Makenna Phelan I like to keep my opinions somewhat unbiased. I've been a fan since 2007, and while I can agree that this song isn't the best song I've ever heard from them, I respect it for what it is - an above average song from an above average band.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it's not bad to be critical of their music. Don't convince yourself that it's good if you don't think it is. If you love the song, that's fine. I'll never understand what you see in it as a 'good' song, but it's okay. My problem is when people aren't honest. They say "this is amazing, I love it!", but in reality, they don't care for it. They're just so desperate for new Fall Out Boy that they'll let it slide. That's not good. If it's not representative of their best work, we have to make them aware. Anyways, that's all I had to say. I'm looking forward to the album, but this single wasn't very strong.
@monochromatic_melodramatic7 жыл бұрын
Yeah someone should politely let FOB know that this isn't good enough, that we don't want this. I feel like they know it too deep down. You could say that this is their art and that's the direction they choose to go in, but you could play their first album and then play the new music and it doesn't even sound like it's from the same band. I don't know what happened to them but do they really expect us to support this wholeheartedly when their old music changed our lives?
@uchiamonkeyguy7 жыл бұрын
wafernate I love the song, but I don't like the fact that it came from FOB, if that makes any sense? I guess a better way to put it would be that it's not the type of song that I wanted from THEM, but it's still the type of song that I like/want
@sarahrose46227 жыл бұрын
wafernate yes yes THANK YOU! I personally really do love the song although it took some getting used to, but when people are saying it's trash or saying anyone who hates it is trash it gets really annoying. Just have your own opinion but don't hate on the actual band or say someone isn't a "real FOB fan!" if they don't like it.
@capkernel7 жыл бұрын
Sarah Rose I'm gonna say, I just drove to get lunch with my brother, and I played it, and it sounded really good. I liked it a whole lot more. I started to feel some of the drum fills come to life, and I was digging the guitars a lot. It's a grower, but I still don't think it's fantastic and I hope the album isn't like this.
@izabellarose68087 жыл бұрын
BALENCIAGA um....we. You know you and all of the other fans don't have the same reaction. Also, different albums aren't supposed to sound the same. Ever heard of Panic! at the Disco? their albums all sound different, but that's not a bad thing. And yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My opinion is that I loved this song and I'm looking forward to the new album. IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM, BECAUSE IT'S THEIR ART! HOW ABOUT STOP TELLING THE CREATOR WHAT NEEDS TO BE CREATED!
