In case you're still wondering, the slowdown for opening apps is mainly due to platform choices. Android runs Java/Kotlin apps under virtualization, iOS runs the apps with Objective-C/Swift which is compiled. Compiled languages beat out other types of languages (in terms of speed) hands down by a long shot, but that's because of what it means to a compiled language. That's more of a computer thing than an iOS vs. Android thing. Each approach has its benefits and drawbacks and history of how these platforms came to be is also involved.

Vast improvement to any iPhone I had owned. Things I like, DeX wow a killer feature I often use it. When copying something it does not become deleted when I again copy something else. Split screen view as in multiple apps on the screen. There are many more features as well. Also, about Samsung throttling, please recall a few years ago Apple did it yet not for any bad reason they were attempting to maintain battery life. For the mute switch problem, you can actually press the volume button then click the three dots to adjust system volumes, ringtones etc. Or you can swipe down and use the control panel to mute your phone. If there was a way to import the Snapdragon version from the U.S, it is far better than Exynos. For video frame rate, you can actually go into "Pro Video" mode in the camera app, and there will be far more options for FPS and even aspect ratio, there's an option for 1080p 120FPS.

Can relate to this so much: Almost 2 years of ownership (and almost 3 since the phone came out) and I've noticed a lot of the things you pointed (the slippery thing, the performance cap, the camera stutter...). Today, with Android 14 this phone became SO MUCH better, the animation, the gesture, the general software experience changed and improved a lot, it's not perfect yet and you can really notice the "weight" that the Exynos processor gives but it's surely a step in the right direction!

I don't even have the flagship phones, but the pop up windows literally only has minimum lag when dealing with my 1.2GB game, So2. The main reason being because it's in the window and not the main screen, but it still beats having to fully commit to the loading screen while not being able to do anything else.

As a lifelong Android user, I would say this was a rather balanced review done by someone who has only utilised the Apple ecosystem when it comes to mobile devices and computers. That said, I think comparing these two systems is like comparing apples and oranges. Pun intended. Android is Android regardless of the device it runs on. What differentiates the feature functionality depended on the mobile device manufacturer. I used Samsung Android mobile devices right up to the Note7 and then stopped using their devices due to the battery possibly exploding debacle. Instead of leaving Android for an iOS device, I switched to using the LG v series Android devices up to the LG v60 with the dual-screen. Once LG announced that they would no longer manufacture mobile devices I moved over to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. It is a huge upgrade to the LG v60 although the LG v60 is still a great device. I've only had the S22 Ultra for a week and all-in-all I like it. The BIG advantage Andriod will always have over iOS is customisation. Apple has no intentions of allowing users to have the level of control over your device one has with Android-based devices. So I can see it is very difficult for someone who has traditionally used the iPhone to switch to an Android device and vice versa. The platforms are meant for very different audiences. Because I've used Android for well over 15 years, I'm accustomed to how it works regardless of the mobile device it's on. I tried using an iPad and was completely lost because the system is not very intuitive to me considering how accustomed I am to Android. I imagine the same is true for you and others who have bought into the Apple ecosystem in general. Overall, I'm happy with the S22 Ultra but not so much with the battery life. I'm a power user and I'm not getting the battery life I hoped for with this camera. My charger is always handy.

Nobody has issues with lag. The reviewer is a crazy iphone fanboy and he made this video only to bash Samsung. The S22 Ultra destroys the iphone on allmost every thinkable aspect: S-Pen, DEX, KNOX defense grade security, KNOX BYOD, multi-window, REAL MULTI-TASKING, better overall camera, super slow mode, super steady video, pro mode images, pro mode video, 10x optical zoom, super fast charging, wireless fast charging, reverse wireless charging, real file-manager, super integration with Google Stadia, super integration with X-box, super integration with Spotify, integration with Windows, part of the largest eco-system in the world (Samsung SmartThings), allways on display, far more advanced widgets, themes and on and on and on. And last but not least: FREEDOM. I decide what I do with my Ultra. If you have an iphone it's Apple that tells you what you can and can't do. The iPhone 13 is a boring antiquated piece of hardware and software. Samsung is years ahead of Apple and this leap is only getting bigger and bigger. Your review was as biassed as I knew it would be.
