Fantastic. Peter Bernstein is definitely one of the finest guitarist. All his notes seem to have a meaning but in the same time played effortlessly.

yeah, sort of reminds me of jesse van ruller, but at the same time, totally different players, but totally both organic.

What I love about him, comparing to most jazz musicians in general... He seems to always serve the song and the music. He's never or rarely a show off. If he plays very complicated it always seems that the song needs it. And I've heard him many times play simplistic melodic lines where it seems something else would have suffocated the song.

He is undoubtedly one of the best in his genre.

Peter is as good as it gets on any instrument in jazz these days in my opinion. He is a great person too.

Bernstein never disappoints. Don't really care for the tone from the bass. Where's that fat woody sound?
@martialmusicman8 жыл бұрын
If you came for fat woody, I think you're in the wrong part of the Internet :D...all kidding aside, I don't know what you mean, I like the tone!

I think its the amp sound. Sounds like farts. I'm sure his acoustic sound must be much better.
@olejason5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the amp or DI instead of a mic on the bass
@cnrbsmth4 жыл бұрын
Sound engineers always chicken out and put the bass D.I really high in the mix because they would rather have a perfectly in control sterile sound than relinquish complete power in the name of vibe. Ive fallen victim to this many times! Listen to the old 50s radio broadcasts, tv appearances, albums even.. they sound lofi and technically 'flawed' at times but they also sound natural, inspiring and great.

not in Gb. Peter was at college with Brad Mehldau and studied with Jim Hall among others, but I know what you mean.
