Peter Capaldi, Richard Strange & Sarah Jane Morris: 'Lou Reed - Pale Blue Eyes' | HiBrow

Peter Capaldi is one of the UK's most loved actors and respected directors. His career has been celebrated with many awards including numerous BAFTAs and an Academy Award for the short film, Franz Kafka's It's A Wonderful Life, which Peter directed.
Peter joins raconteur Richard Strange and Sarah Jane Morris, formerly of The Communards, for a intimate, acoustic version on Lou Reed's Pale Blue Eyes.
This surprise encounter was a part of Richard Strange's A Mighty Big If series, filmed at The House of St Barnabas. The House of St Barnabas has been a charity in the heart of Soho, London since 1846. Its vision is to create a future where sustained employment is a reality for those affected by homelessness.

I refuse to believe this took place in 2012 or whenever. This is clearly a snippet from the inevitable Doctor Who musical episode where the Doctor is having a bit of fun singing with Richard Strange and doing a damn fine job of it. He didn't even bother changing his outfit because he knows he's already a rock star.

I like how Sarah Jane Morris is awestruck by Capaldi's performance. From Malcolm Tucker to Paddington Bear's ally, to Mr. Micawber in The Personal Diary of David Copperfield, the voice of two Rabbits ( Christopher Robinson and the 2018 Version of Watership Down ) and of course, the electrifying and incomparable 12th Doctor, there is no limits on Capaldi's expertise... especially this near 6 year old classic. I don't blame you Mrs, Morris...who wouldn't have their pulses heightening and quickening by his amazing... guitar finesse...and presence. A Mighty Big 😍 is more suitable ( IF is so understated here.. seriously 😉 )!

smichelle65 The person the song was actually written about, had hazel eyes; but Lou Reed decided to change it to ‘pale blue’ - I don’t know why; “Linger on, your hazel eyes” still scans perfectly fine. So, not a million miles away from brown haha. I know this comment is 3 years old, but I only just discovered this rendition of one of my favourite Velvet Underground songs.
