I never watched GoT when it came out, and only recently binged watched all 8 seasons of the show in about a month. By the time I was half way through, it was obvious he was no longer the intelligent character who was always a few steps ahead of those around him...and while he remained somewhat important to the show, others (even Jamie) had overtaken him in importance. I don't agree with your assessment of Tyrion and his importance, in fact it was the exact opposite. oh man... as a father I can just imagine the groans and head-shakes whenever he hears his daughter's affected Irish accent... then asking why she is doing it, then asking her to stop or not to do it then just begrudgingly giving up the fight and letting them have it because it's not worth the drama... or it was not the first time she had done something like this and he just skipped to the final step.

Oh, I'm sure her Irish accent was absolutely lovely. I wish we could sprinkle a wee bit of that accent around the States, just to add a bit of charm!

I am not from a native English speaking country and I absolute LOVE the Irish accent. Irish and Scottish accents are so beautiful. To be honest, the American accents are the worst and Americans know it. Every time a character needs class or wisdom, they give it some kind of an English accent :)
@computerjantje2 жыл бұрын
@Brendan Rodgers I think there are Irish and Scottish languages which I cannot understand. But people from Ireland or Scotland who speak English have a the most beautiful sound. Like this then? :) I certainly would not want to offend the people from the most beautiful countries there :)

Peter was the best actor in this series, he brought humour, serious, soulful acting, he is a natural actor. He may be short, his talent is immeasurable. Peter Dinklage is an actor to be admired, not only for his abilities as an actor, but for his humility as a man. In my opinion Peter made the series what it is. Thank you Peter, hope to see more of your acting in the future.

What a lovely thing to say. Of the money, the epic project, and the family of actors, the hardest thing to walk away from was the sense of community he discovered in Ireland. 🙏

Some times the accent was particularly pitiable. 😄 But I always knew most of the actors were getting sick of doing the same role for 10 years. Which is a large part of why the ending was accelerated.

@@Darkness-ie2yl I don't why they would not one of them has done a damn thing to its equivalent since the show stopped. I mean Kit got a minor character role in eternals with about 6 min of dialog in a 2.5 hour movie but mostly not a single one of them have done squat unless you consider voice acting for some video games.

Tyrion is, for me, the best character in the books. He's intelligent, articulate, brave, sensitive, compassionate ... he can be ruthless when he wants to be, but rarely chooses to be. Peter Dinklage was one of my favorite actors long before GoT. I've especially loved hearing his interviews and speeches. He has a wonderful voice and is genuinely funny and interesting.

He wasn't her assistant; he was her Hand. The Hand is the chief advisor and is there to give impartial advice to the ruler, which is why they're usually quite close to each other. Depending on the ruler, they may also rule "in stead" (meant to be two words), meaning if the ruler is unable to make decisions or unavailable, they make the decisions for them. This can change depending on what other family members are alive e.g. take Margaery, Cersei, and Joffrey. If Joffrey was incapacitated, as Queen, Margaery's word would be the law; as Queen Mother, Cersei's word would be taken into significant account but not law.
