Long time fan of Peter. Had a similar situation, was playing in a jazz-fusion band, a flood came and my entire basement was under water, along with my Ibanez Artist. Swam in, lol, and retrieved it, dried it out, and with the exception of a few cosmetic cracks, the guitar played perfect, no neck problems or electrical problems. Either I was lucky, or it speaks to the quality of Ibanez guitars of the 70s.

Cada vídeo que eu assisto conheço um Peter mais interessante que antes. Conhecer o artista no seu dia a dia, comum como todos nós, alegrias, dores, qualidades e imperfeições. É isso que facina o fã. Marcia.

2010He did a personal appraisal of my 53 Goldtop, passed down from my grandfather 15 thousand but if I wanted to sell it he would give me 9 thousand that day.. I passed cause I just needed it for home insurance purposes.. A year & a half later I had some unexpected health issues so I took it back ( nothing Broken, changed or messed with since he last seen it ) He asked why the change of heart about getting rid of it. I was honest & told him medical reasons... He offered me 3 thousand.. I said no

These spoiled rockstars should take a lesson from Doug Sahm, the leader of the Sir Douglas Quintet, Texas Tornados, The Texas Mavericks and The Formerly Brothers. When Doug's tour bus crashed into a lake, he retreived his vintage 1960s double bound Fender Telecaster and had it repaired and refinished. Doug continued to play it and use it on tours for years, before giving it to his son Shawn, who currently leads the new version of the Texas Tornados with Augie Meyers and Flaco Jimenez.

That's why they're called "flight cases"! Seriously, they're so tough, they probably can survive a plane crash. I have a flight case for my guitar. I reckon it's probably bullet proof

Good point. But let's face it; George Gruhn loathes any "valuable" guitar that someone else has but he does not. He's always been such a two faced cry baby of the vintage guitar world. I really don't know why so many guitar collectors have treated him so much like a guitar guru for so many years. There are just too many other "respectable" experts on vintage guitars that no one should have to put up with his "that guitar isn't worth a damn thing...unless it's in my collection" bullshit.

+jonkheere1 I hate that he's losing his Beckenham Kent accent. He sounded very different in the 70's. If that Les Paul is not famous already the plane crash story makes it beyond legend. When I hear Do you feel on the radio today and know what that guitar went through and that he got it back?. That album cover has even more meaning now.
