Just watched his KZbin guitar collection stream. Awesome collection, and of course the 'Pheonix' was the star. Delighted he got his old friend back. Still listen to Frampton Comes Alive today and love it just as much. Passed my UK driving test in 1976, and it was all I listened to in any car I drove.....that had a cassette player in there. Fabulous memories. Thanks Peter.

YES!! Awesome moment! I saw him last week in Philly at the Tower Theatre and it was about the best concert of dozens I've seen in my life. For him to have his long lost Les Paul back now and playing it live for everyone is just a beautiful thing. It's miraculous that it still exists and is in his hands again. Go Pete! Atta' boy! Wonderful!

Frampton in the guys defense was egging on the crowd to sing along! Look at his hand gestures. The whole arena was singing along for this historical moment. They had just done a presentation of the guitar to Frampton people where not sure what song he would play on it or any song at that point. The guitar was burned looking as he told the Gipson people not to restore the finish make the burn a part of the history!!
@kajem5752 жыл бұрын
Fair point at that moment. But doesn't change the umpteen million other times past,present,future, these morons consistently ruin the experience and cost involved for everybody else when "NOT INVITED TO DO SO!" Peter didn't prompt the audience to SING THE WHOLE DAMN SONG, just a portion of it. 🙂✌❤

Oh, Lord, have mercy: The same man who Peter Frampton sent back to Caracas in search of that Les Paul, when I was five years old, showed up at my door with a cake from his Mom. He's on page 2 of Mr. Frampton's memoirs: 'JD'. My late older brother was also a singer/songwriter/guitarist, and 'JD' worked for him before he got hired by Peter Frampton. He also recovered a lost Les Paul (my brother, that is) one afternoon in Boston when he was schedule to open for Aerosmith that evening. Sometime during the 90s, my brother ended up (along with one of his guitars) at Keith Richards' house. It was during the 90s, when I was driving a cab, and these guys jumped into it one morning, and I drove them to the airport. It was just them; they had sent their equipment on ahead by another flight. They were on the way to NYC. Foghat! P.S: They, and their equipment, landed safely. True story.

Look at the yellowing of that binding!! That Les Paul has probably THE best history behind it, beyond any other. When I read the story of how he got it back, I got goosebumps. SO COOL!! I was about to say can you imagine how much it's worth, but then thought..., it's priceless. And anyone who would pay millions of dollars for it doesn't deserve it anyway. It does look rough though-- portion of the diamond on the headstock is gone. Amazing it even survived a plane crash. Sad that some people didn't though...

Caetano veloso had a similar history with a concert in CAracas it was robery but this time he wasnot as lucky but in brazil the stolen instruments were found

This is a special moment! It’s so great that he’s playing the original guitar that was burned and lost. But was then found and restored after being lost for 30 years! It’s like a rebirth hence the name the Phoenix. What a great story! Now the Black Beauty is back in his hands where it belongs. Making music again! Do you feel like I do? Yes, I do! Rock On, Peter Frampton! 👏🏻🎸😎

I found the Black Beauty in Irvine at 5 Point Amphitheater a few years ago. Peter's Guitar Tech first accused me of trying to steel it, interrogating me to find out I just grabbed the case off the truck with the other, true story. I got pictures of the Tech holding the Les Paul to prove my story for those who question.

What year was it that idiots in the crowd started singing during concerts? It wasn't the 1970's.I stood 3 feet in front of Peter Frampton for the Frampton Comes Alive Tour. At the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan, with only a piece of plexi -glass in between us. I was the closest person to him and he played the entire album cover to cover. I mentioned the story on facebook about 38 years later. And received a facebook messenger message from Peter Frampton, who told me they had a 40th anniversary planned. And he asked me if I would repeat the story two years later for the anniversary, so I did.

Met him after the show and he was a class act. I could tell I met an Icon. He told me the story of when him and George Harrison were sitting in a field getting loaded on cheap wine. The clouds broke, Harrison picked up his 12 string and started writing " here comes the sun"! Fuck! Legendary.
