Not even PG himself does it that good these days. Depth, emotion, and dynamics... and all those ones in spades. It is some sort of hymn in disguise methinks. Keep up the good work. This was on my old C3 (mid 80’s model) I then bought a C3X (which was very good but just didn’t quite have the bass for me) and finally I upgraded that to a C6X which is excellent for my studio, I’ve not done any posts with that piano yet but I will as soon as I have time.

@@jeanclaudenormant3562 that particular C3 had a nice bass, though I bought the bass out with EQ on this recording. It is close mic’d with Austrian Audio OC818 microphones. The CX has better scaling in the treble though. If you’re thinking of a C3X then try a few, the first couple I tried didn’t impress me then the dealer got another one in straight out of the crate and I liked it a lot. Much can be done by a good technician who can voice well.

@@darrenelliottfrancis Thn'x for the details, i have a C3 from 1986 which has a good scale from bass to treeble but i think that in a close future i'll change the hammers and will try to put new hammers from Yamaha that are now made in Germany, i don't know if the C3X hammers are able to be installed in a C3 ?! Abel or Renner are a good choice...

@@jeanclaudenormant3562 my technician put Abel natural hammers on a C7 and had excellent results. These are likely to be a lot more mellow than CX hammers though. The CX hammers are also ‘brighter’ than the SX series hammers which you could look into. As to what will fit, I think you’d need to consult a technician who knows a lot about Yamahas. I used Manu Kerro a French technician who has trained in Japan at Yamaha living in the U.K. on the new C6X - His regulating and voicing were excellent. It’s worth remembering though that the hammers and strings were chosen to compliment each other for the overall bold C series sound, so discuss the interaction of the hammers with the current strings with your technician, it’s a lot of work to have done without knowing exactly what you’re going to get!

Hi, I’m just glad you’re getting something from it. I had major surgery this summer and they managed to do some damage to my vocal chords with the breathing tubes as it was a long surgery. Recovery has taken a while, and the voice still isn’t 100%. I posted a cover today, it’s my first since the surgery, I have a new piano too. There will be more songs including originals coming shortly. I’ll think about patreon, I’d not considered it before. Once again, I’m just glad you’re getting something from my efforts. D.
